Paul: yeah man, i'm always on evolutionm.net. The evo 1-9 fit our specs exactly. The evox however has more aggressive fitments traditionally.

255/35 works too just smaller OD than necessary in most applications.

True, I suppose. Yet "necessary" is subjective from one's own perspective. :D:

I think it works well especially if you want more acceleration, low profile for a more aggressive stance allowed and have your stock speed reading a couple mph's under what radars show which is exactly my reasoning for it.

J8635621 03-11-2010 01:43 PM

Hub size, thread pitch, and bolt pattern are all the same. Also most people run nonstaggered fitments. evolutionm.net is the only one I really frequent. I'm sure some other people will know other sites. There is a set of evo 8 rims perfect condition for ~$350 in Dallas right now iirc.

hey dude! what's up?! when are you getting your new rims on?!

i should have clarified, i'm looking for my gf's mazda 3. so i'd rather stick with 17's. but sounds like at least bolt pattern and hub are the same? just looking for used 17" wheels or used 18" tires (to mount onto my oem wheels for her car).

J8635621 03-11-2010 01:55 PM

For a mazda 3, you may want to check into the wrx/sti forums. Just make sure the rims are 5x114.3 as some of them are 5x100. They have more 17x8 or 17x7.5 rims. I don't think a mazda 3 can fit stuff that is very low of an offset/very wide. Pretty sure a 3 will rub with our rims and 245/40 tires.

ok cool.

yeah, it's not lowered but still heard 245/40's will rub. the 3 guys that run 18x8's normally have 225/40's. whatever i can find first...used 225/40's to slap on my oem rims for her or used 17x7, 17x7.5 will do. her tires now are 205/45, so i can't run 17x8...

I would check out EvoXForum and STiForum...same spec as our wheels

ha ha, don't tell me yours does!!! :evil_laug

how's the 2010? sometimes i hate the new look and sometimes i love it. the inside is great though. her is an 2004.5, so it's old, over 100k too but going strong. i've done a few little things to it...added rr's footwell lights and upgraded her brake light to led's. i'd like to get her some cool wheels or give her my oem ones, but right now i'm strapped so i'm really try to keep it on the cheap!!

you two are gonna be sittin' pretty when you both get your wheels on!! damn

RivalDrift 03-11-2010 03:57 PM

I'm looking to get those new xxr 522 18x9.5 +25 or +38 but the question is will the +25 work? I'm ok with fender rolling and maybe pulling but I don't wanna camber

Atilla 03-11-2010 04:01 PM

how much camber are you running right now john??

J8635621 03-11-2010 04:05 PM

You have to put a tire size. Bluntly the +25 won't work without some effort. +38 is easy

The guy here is flaking out and a guy in Ft. Worth has a nice pair but wants way too much.

RivalDrift 03-11-2010 06:22 PM

I was looking for 245/40 or 255/40

RivalDrift 03-11-2010 06:26 PM

I'm not sure how much camber I'm running, but I got it as close to stock as possible... I couldn't figure out how to read the printout they gave me for my alignment...

J8635621 03-11-2010 07:09 PM

scan it edit: with 245/40 and a pull you may not have to run much negative camber to run the +25. You could probably pull it off with a roll, but you would need -2 camber at least I bet.

RivalDrift 03-11-2010 07:17 PM

Dang I might have to just go with the +38 cuz I do track my car and I think running agressive wouldn't be smart

mike[piston eater] 03-11-2010 07:27 PM

damn john those look legit

RivalDrift 03-11-2010 07:36 PM

Aww sh!t mike found out >.<

mike[piston eater] 03-11-2010 07:41 PM

not like i would rock em though lol

Bravery 03-12-2010 10:43 AM

k, i just got rid of my 19's and i'm looking for a diff set up and i figured you guys are the best place for answers so thanks in advance. so here is my first q

Wheel Manufacture/ Model: Rota Torque
Wheel Size: 18x9.5
Wheel Finish: Black
Bolt Pattern/Offset: 5x114.3 +28
Tire: 235/40/18

i know i can make it fit but i was wondering if i can run a bigger tire. im looking for something aggressive. the wheel fitment will be for all four corners

oh by the way, the rears are rolled and barely pulled tiny bit. lowered on springs gf's

J8635621 03-12-2010 11:36 AM

I bet you could run 245/40/18 without much trouble at all.

Bravery 03-12-2010 11:47 AM

thanks

Mazda_RX804 03-12-2010 12:11 PM

^ pretty sure your gonna rub

J8635621 03-12-2010 12:40 PM

Based on? I have pretty much that fitment on my car right now. It may rub on the plastic piece in the rear, but nothing crazy and it can be fixed easily. edit:https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-wheels-tires-brakes-suspension-55/oh-my-god-teaser-pic-my-new-wheels-184225/ You can fit wider tires for sure if you want to do some work.
