Tire size is another variable :D:

Often the rims will fit...but the tires don't :)

truth. that's where the tire calculator comes in handy.

TeamRX8 04-08-2008 09:52 PM

wrong, most tire calculators work off theoretical criteria and are often incorrect as a result

dannobre 04-08-2008 09:54 PM

^^ true...they assume too much about the rims the tires are on...as well as assume that there are "standards" in the tire industry ;)

+1

tire calculators aren't a replacement for logic, but they're a decent substitute. when in doubt, ask questions.

hooray for vague, inconclusive responses! lol.

TeamRX8 04-08-2008 10:51 PM

as opposed to concrete, but wrong responses? :slap:

You are good - you will be close to my front setup.

rreign 04-09-2008 03:17 PM

225/40R/19 F 19x8.5

255/35R/19 R 19x9.5

will this work with a 1.2" drop?

bose 04-09-2008 03:30 PM

1.25" drop with 8.5" wide 18's. wrapped in 235/40/18.

Anyone care to chime in?

With 19x8.5 with a 1.2 inch drop in the front, and a 0.8 inch in the rear. Along with 225/40ZR19 Toyo Tires it will fit? How close are we talking and will it be flush with the rest of the car?

Offset?

Mine is fine; see my post early in this thread for pictures; my REARS are different - so they don't count. But my fronts are about the same as yours. You should be fine; but for "flushness" see pics in my sig - or early in the thread of my front wheels only.

will 18x18.5 rims fit in 225/45/18r tires?

Batman&TheBatmobile 04-12-2008 01:22 PM

OT but what does it sound like when your tires rub? im not sure if thats the issue im havin now or its somethin else? im goin to mazda soon but i'd like to know whats wrong

hirev8 04-13-2008 10:24 PM

Guys been going through every post in this thread and I think I might have an application that's going to work without effecting performance and most of all will look good but just want to make sure....Here it is

Front 18x8.5 35offset

Rear 18x9.5 35 offset

Tires:

Front 225/45/18

Rear 245/40/18

Want to still utillize original tires for the front cause basically they are brand new. My next question is if I go with MS shocks and springs beleiving it lowers the car by 20mm will I still be fine with no rubbing. Any input would be great help.......Much Thanks

^ oops... apprently he's asking almost the same :lol2:

too many pages... :icon_no2:

How would these be?

18x8.5+35(f) 225/45/18
18x9.5+35(r) 245/45/18

:dunno:

Feras 04-14-2008 01:45 PM

18x8.5 with a 40 offset with 245-40-18s atm
should i stay the same, go up to 255-40 (35?)-18, or go to 265-35-18

it will work, besides u hv to roll your rear fender
otherwise it will rub

Hmmm... so i'm assuming +25 offset w/ same specs are out of the question :squint:

Kane 04-15-2008 01:35 PM

I have +28 same specs; and I def had to roll my fenders.

But wait... you have 19's... i'm inquiring about 18's

18x8.5 +25
18x9.5 +25

Tires:
225/45/18
245/45/18

Kane 04-15-2008 03:10 PM

Oh yeah my bad; but I have 245/35 - so the rolling diameter should be about the same.

I still think the offset (function of wheel width only) is going to cause rubbing without a roll.

flip 04-15-2008 03:26 PM

Sorry for all the noob-like questions... its just that the seller i'm trying to get these wheels from isn't sure what the offsets are... :banghead: is it +25 or is it +35? He has a g35 coupe ('03 i think)

Kingsfan 04-15-2008 04:17 PM

i'm getting 18x9 +35

also apex'i springs that drop 25mm front and 15mm rear

how wide can i get with the tires? 265/35/18?

thanks
