Thinking about a set of RE11's in 245/40/18 on the stock rims for street tire autocross. Will I run into any problems with fit? I'm new to the RX8 world, moved over from the RX7 world.

Vlaze 04-09-2010 10:05 AM

You shouldn't. From tire calculator sites I believe the stock rim (18x8) is the min. width to use for a 245. Should be fine.

Atilla 04-09-2010 10:16 AM

i can vouch for that. i ran 245/40 kdw's on my stockies and they were great.

Wow, you guys are fast to respond. Thanks so much. Will most likely order them this weekend and test them at my next autox on the 18th.

ok last time lol.

I'm finally set on getting the MRR GT1 in hyper silver for my WWP. here are the specs, For the offset, i saw that they are both 45! I'm wondering how the tires will look on the car with a tein-s drop. Will they both be flush in the front and rear? Thank yall so much for the advice and gained knowledge! "DOC"

18x8.5 ET 45
18x9.5 ET 45

f 245/40/18
r 265/35/18

They will fit fine and not be flush.....way better than stock but not flush.

thanks for the quick response. Thanks for all the help!

Okay, So I want to run a set of Enkei PF01's, 18x8 all around with a +40 offset and either 235/40 or 235/45 tires. I'll be dropping the car on H&R springs (i would go lower but New England roads wont have it). My dealer told me that it will probably rub and I'd like to avoid having to roll the fender. My question of course is, Will it Fit? or do I have to go with a +45 offset? Can I stagger the offset to 45 in the front and 40 in the back, or 45 all around with 18x8.5's in the back? I realize its a lot of questions, I appreciate any help you guys could give.

J8635621 04-15-2010 09:48 AM

That is no where near rubbing and your "dealer" doesn't know wtf it's talking about. You can run 9.5 +45 with 275s all around and no problems. Get 245/40/18 tires regardless of your choice (8-8.5 wide) and don't stagger anything.

renesisking 04-15-2010 10:24 AM

Dude, I'm running 18x9.5 with a 45 offset and 255/40-18s and lowered it an 1" with stance coilovers and I have no rub what so ever. I'm not even close to rubbing, no fender pulls or rolling.

neofreak 04-15-2010 06:38 PM

I have some 18x9.5 +30 wheels with 265/35-18s from my other car, will they fit? Fender roll necessary?

Car will be modestly lowered on coilovers -- not slammed.

Atilla 04-15-2010 06:42 PM

a good Fender roll

that's about all that's needed.

J8635621 04-15-2010 07:54 PM

And definitely do some work on the plastic and tabs inside the wheel well in the back. My 9.5 +28 with 245s required a little bit of work and I have -2.2ish camber.

How about +35 with the same dimensions?

J8635621 04-15-2010 09:27 PM

I bet you would be fine with minimal plastic trimming if any. It's really not hard or bad.

aquadageo11 04-16-2010 01:16 PM

im needing to get as much rubber as i can in the rear. thinking like a 18x10 0r 19x10 rim. i got tien springs on the frount but stock in the rear for now. im willing to roll the fenders jus need to know whats the most meat i can get back there cause traction a big problem now.:mchase:

Kane 04-16-2010 01:23 PM

18*10 would be better than a 19"

Atilla 04-16-2010 05:04 PM

wait wait wait...did you say that you have tein's in the front and stock in the rear?? wtf?? i gotta ask why??

btw, we need offset of the wheels in order to tell you what kinda tires you can run - without offset, your question will remain unanswered...

aquadageo11 04-16-2010 05:45 PM

havent decided on a rim yet i plan on getting what ever rim that allows me the right off set.its about function for me not looks. so i guess im asking whats the best offset for the largest tire. "dam evos kill me off the line". perli offered me a set of comp tires but there 315's is there any way :fingersx:

Atilla 04-16-2010 10:12 PM

315's??!?

umm sure, if you had aftermarket fenders n' a really high offset

if you go 18x10 you can possibly run 285's if the offset is around +45

best i can think of off the top of my head considering the question you're asking.

lzhmax 04-20-2010 02:24 AM

will this fit without any problem? i dont want fender rolled
ADVAN RS 19x9 +38 with 245/35R19

J8635621 04-20-2010 12:17 PM

You can get up to a 9 +30 and be fine. Any lower than +30 is iffy.

AK-X8 04-21-2010 10:14 PM

How will i be with F:18x9.5 +20, R 18x9.5 +20 and a 2 in drop all around.

Atilla 04-21-2010 10:17 PM

that questions belongs in the aggressive fitment thread

245's should work w/a full roll or shave, slight pull and camber work.
