I just found something that will not fit, want to see your opinion on what i should do, new springs or smaller profile tires?

springs = sprint
Wheels = OEM G35 - 18x8
Offset = +30
Fenders = rolled - front and back

its rubbing on the bumper.

What tires are you running on them?

That should fit with room to spare unless you are running the wrong size tire.

In this pic, I was running 18x8 +35 , Bf goodrich 225/45 ZR 18s with Sprint springs and had plenty of room (and no roll). It's either the tires or your springs/struts are sagging....

Something does not look right.... That does not look like +30 offset on a 18x8

J8635621 04-22-2010 10:01 AM

Where is it rubbing?

i think it is rubbing on the front and rear bumper and maybe in the fender liner. the plastic guard up in the front fender.

J8635621 04-22-2010 10:13 AM

Something is very strange with your setup. Multiple people have run 245/40s on 18x8 +25 with barely any rubbing. Has your car been in a wreck or something?

no, completely clear carfax when i bought it. do you think going to a 225/40 would be a good idea? im thinking about just getting tanabe springs and raising it a bit.

J8635621 04-22-2010 10:20 AM

So the front tire rubs on the front of the fender liner?

that's what i think. I'm not sure. they are not hitting the fenders, its definitely plastic that they are hitting.

could alignment have anything to do with that? i have quite a bit of camber.

J8635621 04-22-2010 10:28 AM

There is plastic you should trim on the inside of the fenders. I wouldn't expect you to need that though. Camber should be keeping you from rubbing, not causing it. Maybe someone else has an idea about what to do. I would expect you to have a problem with the tire rubbing the back fender liner in front, not the front piece. You shouldn't have to switch out springs or tires to make this fit.

The wheels are not centered in the wheelwell, that's why we're saying that it does not look right. That setup is a very common setup and it should not have any problems fitting even with the OEM sized tires.

Camber is not the issue here at all.

Atilla 04-22-2010 10:33 AM

Contact forum member: Angelo se3p he's currently running with the exact same wheels (except in purple) and on megan coilovers set on it's lowest settings. He can probably provide you some insight.

kwikslvr 04-22-2010 10:45 AM

thanks for all your help.

what would cause the wheels to not be centered?

chino0314 04-22-2010 10:49 AM

you need and alignment sir

i know i need an alignment since im changing the offset, but i dont want to do that if they are going to rub

J8635621 04-22-2010 10:56 AM

Do both front tires have the same gap between them and the front of the car? You don't need an alignment because you changed the offset. If all you did was change wheels, your alignment is exactly the same.

kwikslvr 04-22-2010 10:58 AM

yes, both front tires have the same gap, alsmost none. i cant fit a finger in there

J8635621 04-22-2010 11:10 AM

Did you do anything suspension related between these wheels and the stock ones?
