Hi, I am a new member, RX8 veterants please help me out. |
^^ Yes those should fit fine. I believe there is a member who has these in the for sale section who has these, but they are staggered 19x8.5 and 19x9.5. You could check them out to see an example of what they will look like on your 8. If you have a 235 tire on 8.5's, I don't see why there would be any issues.

Posted these up in the Gold/Bronze rims thread, but figured i'd post them in here since I had some many questions about them in here before buying them lol...
Raze R74 Rims: 18x8.5 Front (+35) 18x9.5 Rear (+35) Federal SS595 Tires: 235/40-18 Front 265/35-18 Rear As far as I can tell, the rear fenders will need to be rolled or shaved... Haven't had a chance to drive the car yet with them on as it's at my parents place 1000kms away from me... Got them to take some pics after mounting them :) http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...uk/RX8rims.jpg http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...37514_4582.jpg http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...37520_6806.jpg http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...37511_3522.jpg http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...37513_4222.jpg http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...37512_3866.jpg |
buying 19" with coilover setup
Hello everyone im about to buy 19" rims with a coilover setup ive been reading the post for days and was just wondering how much of a difference is F19X8.5
R19X9.5 going to make on the stock suspension setup compared to 19X8.5 all the way around. Any imput would be apreciated. thanks. |
As long as you stay around 40 offset on the 9.5's you will be OK
The 8.5's you can go to about +35ish with no problem |
So going with a good coilover setup that adjust camber along with height shouldnt mess with the feel of the ride the offsets are within that range .
|
The ride height isn't a real big problem.......If you stay in the offsets and don't slam it real low...you won't rub.
The coilovers won't make adjusting the camber any different...it's an A-arm suspension....so it is independent of the shocks. The camber will increase with the amount you drop it though. |
thank you very much for your imput

Hey guys, got a boring but hopefully quick one for ya.
Using stock 2005 special ed. rims (which are stock with a polished aluminum finish I believe). Not sure the rim specs, but I'm guessing that's common knowledge around here. :) Anyway, I want to put on a set of Goodyear F1 GS-D3s as summer tires (I have different rims/tires for winter) but they don't come in the stock 225x45x18 size of my OE tires. They DO come in a lot of similar sizes which I've listed here: 225/35/18 225/40/18 235/40/18 235/50/18 245/35/18 245/40/18 245/45/18 245/50/18 And so forth (all the way up to 295s)... Since 225x45 is out, which one of these would you recommend, if any, and why? Thanks for your time! Justarius |
245/40 18 are probably the closest to stock
|
^^ me thinks that too.....
|
so far i have seen the 255 / 40 / 18 is dead on the same dia as the stock tire..
25.9 in.. but not a lot of 255 choices. beers  |
After having read quite a few posts (like the 7 first pages or so of the thread) I think that I haven't come across my problem yet. If someone has asked about a similar setup, so be it.
I want to run Toyo Proxes R888 225/45/R17. Yes i know the speedometer will show 4% too fast, which is not a problem since i will only use these tires on track days. What I'm really looking for is the rim size needed and some advice towards lightweight rims to try to shave off a bit of weight while I'm at it. My car is entirely stock with no modification at all. Yes I know I should stiffen her up to have more fun at tracks but I'm just a glad amateur who wants to have some track fun with my daily driver every now and then. So, which rim sizes fit and are suggested? |
Basically anything from +35 to stock +50 offset on a stock width ( 8") wheel will fit...
You should have lots of choices out there. Just make sure they clear the brakes...it's kinda hit and miss with 17" wheels. I think Olddragger runs 17" track wheels...maybe PM him or search for his setup |

Will i get a warning light or will I get the ECU going into failsafe mode? |
the light will just stay on
|
lots of people are running 17s for track days. i think ods are 45 offset.
beers  |
I am really liking the XXR 502s, but they have a lower offset. I am going staggered fitment and I have seen some very close setups and hopefully it will not only fit, but not look too aggressive either. Tein S-Techs with 1" drop in front and .5" drop in rear. Here is what I want to do
18x8.5 with 235/40/18 +35 18x9.5 with 255/35/18 +35 http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b6...perSilver2.jpg I hope the rear tires are not too wide because I BOUGHT THEM ALREADY lol, but I do not want to do any camber or rolling BS. Anyone have first hand knowledge of this config or close. :) Thanks yo |
I believe those should fit fine. By the way, nice choice of wheels. They would have been better in 19's though.
