this gives a -4% error

if i go 225/50/17 there's a 0% (negligible) error

whats the difference?

The 225x50x17 are a bit taller profile than the 225x45x17 and hence closer to the stock 225x45x18 in terms of overal wheel/tire diameter which leads to similar MPH speedometer reading.

This is much in the way that 255x40x18 are close to stock 225x45x18.

Keep in mind that the second number is a profile (width/height ratio) and hence the need for a tire ratio calculator to make a fair comparison.

You are going to need tires that are shorter than stock.

5x112 won't work. You need 5x114.3 Everything else looks OK though. You could definitely go more aggressive if you were so inclined.

I want an aggressive fit, without pulling fenders. I don't mind rolling them. Let me know if it will fit. I have looked at the aggressive thread, but there are so many pages and being in Iraq with shitty internet doesn't help. ha

front 18x9.5 + 30 or +35 235/40/18 rear18x10 +40 or +25 with 245/40/18 on tanabe nf210 springs?
or
18x9.5 +25 on lets say a 255/40/18 again with tanabe nf210 which has about a 1.2-1.5 in drop. I can't remember my measurements.

Those came stock on bunches of rx8. Yes they will fit. 245/40/18 is usually cheaper or the same price for more tire. There are other tires that are considered better for less money ($1000 for stock size tires is RIDICULOUS). Nitto Invo, Toyo T1R, Kumho SPT, etc.

Trevors you can run the first setup 9.5 +30/35 (I'd suggest a 245/40) and 10+40 fine (265/35). The 10+25 will need a pull even with 245/40. 9.5 +25 is pushing it but could probably be run in the rear with a 255/40. You would need to trim the plastic in the rear fenders.

I found a wrecked rx8 with those bridgestone tires. they only have 4000 miles on them and the guy wants $200. Seemed worth it. Thanks for the help.

Ok great, my next question is, with the first set up 9.5 +30 and 10+40, would that be more flush than the 9.5 +25? I know everyone has different opinions on that, but i can't seem to find to reasonable pics to help my situation. I want to push my wheel and tire to the limit without pulling the fenders.

Flush depends on camber. http://www.flickr.com/photos/j863562...7623744260352/ That's 9.5 +28 with 245/40/18 in the rear and 9.5 +38 with 245/40/18 in the front. Approximately -2.2 camber. There are a couple older pictures where it is +33 in the rear and +38 in the front also. edit: I'm currently running +33F/+28R. Maybe I'll get some new pictures soon. Also contemplating a switch to 265/35s all around.

I hope the 2" drop from my Sprint springs will look good
otherwise im gonna have to dump some money into adjustable shocks to use with the springs :/ (coilovers will make me broke)

are there any ways to fix the speedo (for cheap) when going 245/40 cause thats -8% on the speedo which is A LOT

You don't need a speedo. It's not important. i don't have one in my FC. ha, well i do, but its kph. so i have a sticky note on the conversions. But i just drive with traffic or a little faster depending on the place and time of day.

I have JIC coilovers. The fronts are gonna be super sunken compared to the rears. The tires I have are Nitto Invo which I think are a little wider than your average 245.

Yes it could rub. What size and offset is your wheel?
