Hello everyone i just bought my rims and would like to lower it now but i am a little confused on what would be best to keep the ride closest to stock. Would just putting lowering springs in with a 1.5 inch drop front and .8 inch drop back be good or should i just buy a good pair of coilovers. would appreciate any imput

I believe those should fit fine. By the way, nice choice of wheels. They would have been better in 19's though.

Thanks....they are sweet! I was doing some calculations and I think this is right.... If the OEM 18" wheels are 8" @ 50MM, then a 9.5" @35MM would push the wheel out 1" 3/8 (that's 1.5" / 2= .75" from centerline) + (15MM) = approx 1" 3/8 pushed out to the fender further than stock.

That means that the wheel itself is now flush with the outer fender if my calculations are correct.....yikes!

Posted these up in the Gold/Bronze rims thread, but figured i'd post them in here since I had some many questions about them in here before buying them lol...

Raze R74 Rims:
18x8.5 Front (+35)
18x9.5 Rear (+35)

Federal SS595 Tires:
235/40-18 Front
265/35-18 Rear

As far as I can tell, the rear fenders will need to be rolled or shaved... Haven't had a chance to drive the car yet with them on as it's at my parents place 1000kms away from me... Got them to take some pics after mounting them

After looking at TragicallyHip's post, my calculations are pretty close. I think you will be OK since you have a nice amount of room up top but not sure ;)

I never got a chance to see mine in person yet, but from the pics I was sent up from my family, they certainly do appear to be pretty flush. (I'm living 1000kms away from my old house)

Dad drove the car a little bit to test it (over some speed-bumps, etc...) Said he didn't notice any rubbing, but I had him take it to the body-shop about 2 minutes away from my house and have the rear-fenders shaved just to be safe.

I'll be meeting up with my two brothers tomorrow somewhere between my old city and new one and switching cars with them. So i'll finally get to see it for the first time in person after all of my new mods... (Rims/Tires, Mazdaspeed CAI, Strakes, Front/Rear Rotary Accents, ZEnclosures Subwoofer box, etc...)

Put it away stock last fall, getting it back all modified :)

Was that a typo? If not - flip the front with the rear.

that fitment will work fine. if you want you can get a bit more aggressive on the rear and the front (for a more flush look and bigger lip). I checked the konig website to see if they have a full listing of available sizes and offsets posted... but it doesnt appear to be that way.

nonetheless - what you have will work, just make sure the 9.5 is in the rear and the 8.5 is in the front.

It was a typo. 9.5 in the rear. I was typing while my girlfriend was telling me to get off and I was putting it wrong. I either want MB Weapons or Konig AFTERBURNERS. I want the widest rears I can get without any modification to the fenders with the largest offset. I may do 8.5 in the front and maybe 10.0 in the rear if they'll fit?

9.5" with +35 offset will likely rub on the back...especially with 275 series tires

They will be close though.....probably need a roll....

does anyone kno if i can fit 275/35/18 in the rear with an offset of 38mm without having to cut or roll the fender???

jerseysentra 04-27-2008 06:51 PM

i wanna do ths combo, if it will work with no huge issues.

konig after burner
front 19x8 +40
rear 19x9.5 +40

only offsets available for 19x8 are +40 an +30
only offses available for 19x9.5 are +40 an +25.

i have tein basics an dont now what would look best. i dont mind havin to do a bit o fender rolling. opinions?

joe-jitsu 04-27-2008 06:58 PM

Im thinking about Falken Hanabi in 18x8.5 +38 all around. Will this work? If so what size tires will fit?

If the rim is 9" or narrower no problem...even 9.5 should be OK

Wider than that will likely rub.....

also wat tire size do u think best?

dannobre 04-28-2008 12:52 AM

265/30 or 275/30 rear 245/35 fronts I think on 19" wheels

So does your rear wheels extend past the inner, middle or on the outer fender. Also, do the rear tires clear or do you just have enough vertical space tolerance?

I have 255/35/18s with a +35 going on a Tein S-tech setup soon as well and that will give me a -7mm advantage over yours.

Just curious. :squint:

Those wheels should be fine, but I'd think twice about 275s or even 265s. 255s may be OK depending on your drop back there. A slight roll or camber may be required...I'm not a fan of the latter.

that should be good. you do want to keep the profile down like that on a 19" rim, not such a big deal on an 18" rim.

or he could go with a 215/40/19 in the rear and stretch the joy into it
:)

fonz 04-29-2008 12:00 AM

will at 19x10.0 35mm fit in the rear if so what size tires would be the best

I believe this wheel will stick out past the fender by 1/4"...not recommended. If it were like a +45, +48 or +50...would be OK. I've seen a club member with a 20x10 +48 with 275/30/20s and they snug into the fender with an aggressive drop too!

Those wheels are the Ruff Racing 280s.

keennee 04-29-2008 01:47 PM

would a 44 all around fit?

keennee 04-29-2008 01:48 PM

i mean would a 44 offset all around fit?

Those gold wheels are really nice. Do you think 18x9.5 +35 would fit all around? I love how deep the 9.5 +35's are
