ok...i'm going to break it down for you since i feel like preachin'

First off.

Please steer away from chrome. Most of them are Cheap(low quality), heavy, they're out of style and they just cheapen the car's overall appearance.

By looking at your user name i'm assuming that you enjoy some aspects of the movie franchise - please do not feed into that trash. Chrome wheels, underglows flame thrower kits = GARBAGE.

you have the same car i do - please don't lower the car's image more than it already has. Save up some legit money n' pick up something decent. Enkei is an awesome brand w/really good specs and prices. They don't really come in chrome but they have a polish finish that looks more baller than most. It will cost you tho.

My suggestion; look at rota or sportmaxx xxr's. Get something for now - research later for more info, sell your wheels then get something better when you understand more.

ok well id rather have a negative camber than positive.... honestly idk what offset i want, i just dont want it to hit my fender, idk much about suspension but am probably gonna lower it a little bit but not too much, wanted 20"s lol but was told it would look retarded so will probably just get 18s.... like wider rims/tires but dont know if it'd look good on the 8

 you just bashed yourself/your car

Atilla 07-30-2010 02:51 PM

it's the sad truth - there's owners out there that lower the car's image n' it's visible when people view me/my car.

Lucky for me i don't give two shits about them so i go about my business bein' a badass :smoker: lol

2FAST2FURI0US 07-30-2010 02:51 PM

i dont wanna sell my wheels cuz i want them for the winter

The Reverend 07-30-2010 02:53 PM

you keep your wheels that you have now for winter, find something that suits you for the present, and when everything clicks in your mindbrain later you sell the "new" wheels and get something baller

2FAST2FURI0US 07-30-2010 02:54 PM

haha, well i dont wanna waste money on something later.... im fine with the stock rims i got now, i just wanted something better and if i were to buy new aftermarket wheels it would be to keep not as a stepping stone

mike[piston eater] 07-30-2010 03:01 PM

They typically have nice sizes and offsets for 8s

Grog 07-30-2010 08:31 PM

Will this setup work? I need to be 100% sure and seriously need some answers:

245/40/18 tires
18x9, +41 wheels
10mm spacers

Dropped on Tein S-Techs with OEM shocks.

2FAST2FURI0US 07-30-2010 09:11 PM

Ok, I'm back lol... Will this work and look good???
Option 1- 225/45 18x8 40mm offset enkei
Option 2- 225/45 18x8 45mm offset oz

Grog that will fit fine, just make sure the wheel has recesses that are deep enough to allow the stock stud to poke into with the spacers. Some wheels (like the stock ones) need a wider spacer like 20mm.
2Fast - Those will fit like stock basically. Look for 18x8 with a +30 offset, 18x8.5 +35, 18x9+35, 18x9.5 +40. Those are just starting points.

I don't really understand what you mean or how this works. How can I check to make sure that a 10mm will work with my wheels?

Also, on a side note, would anyone recommend Falken FK452s as a decent tire for daily driving? The price for it doesn't seem anywhere near as high as I thought it was (or what it used to be) and I need to upgrade my stock tires in the next month or two. They're almost done.

I'm also considering getting 15mm spacers instead of 10mm. With the same specs that I listed earlier, will a 15mm spacer still fit just fine?

2FAST2FURI0US 07-31-2010 09:20 AM

Where can I find that.... I was looking at tirerack.com under recommended for my car but got nothing that wide I liked...

There is your problem right there. They try to make the wheels stock fitting and don't give you fitment choices. Check with people like AutoRnd ( http://www.autornd.com/Default.asp ) or other sites where they have fitment options.

15mm will make you rub. You just have to get someone to check if the spacers will work I guess. If it is the Varrstoens, I would hope they allow the use of spacers but no guarantee from me. Those tires are decent. Check the calling all tires thread for more ideas.

These are to show what I'm talking about. Stole it from an rsx forum and the first picture is kinda not good but you should get the idea.

This is similar to what you want to see. Instead of an actual hole though, it could just be spaces in the back side of the wheel.

After a good ten minutes of Googling, I found that Varrstoen TE37 runners on a BMW Club forum use spacers to make these wheels fit their car. I'll have to look around more just to be 100% sure, but I'm almost certain now that my wheel has the holes in the back.

Thanks for the help; I really appreciate it. I get really anxious when it comes to stuff like this and I'd hate myself if I paid for a set of spacers that wouldn't even fit, haha. 10mm Ichiba spacers look like my best bet right now.

J8635621 07-31-2010 11:35 AM

You want the spacers with the studs built in, not the kind where you have to take out your old stock studs and press in longer ones. That is a major pain in the ass on the rx8.

edit: check the width of their spacers. If they are using wider than 10mm, then you may have problems using 10mm.

* ICHIBA VERSION I spacers fit between the wheel and hub, and require changing the existing wheel studs for longer ones (included)
o 93-97 MAZDA 626 MX-6
o 04-08 MAZDA3 MAZDASPEED3
o 04-08 MAZDA6 MAZDASPEED6

That is what will suck. You can find nice 10mm spacers (project kics for one) with the studs built in for $100-110 shipped on evolutionm.net all day long. I think they are like $135ish new. Those prices are for a pair. If you aren't lowered yet, the 9+41 will likely look good enough if you don't want to spend the extra money on spacers just yet.

Already lowered on S-Techs and I definitely need some spacers.

So why will it suck? They'll still fit, wouldn't they? What needs to be done to make the Ichiba spacers fit?
