I don't have any wheels set in mind yet. From searching from the threads on this forum, I have a good idea about what offsets I should look for in 9",9.5", and 10" width wheels, but I couldn't really find a lot of information on 8.5" wide wheels and just asked for future reference. I guess you are in the process of choosing a new set of wheels? If you are, good luck!

Well j8, you were right. Having an autoshop install my rear spacers would have costed me nearly $300 in labor.

I've decided to run the KIC pre-studded spacers in the rear, and the Ichibi spacers that I originally had purchased in the front. I'll have to sell the other pair of Ichibas.

I wouldn't have to worry about anything when running two different types of spacers in the rear/front, would I? They're the same width and they're doing the same job, but I dunno.

I don't think there should be a problem except if you keep those longer studs in the front and DONT use the spacer, that your studs will stick out farther and you will have to use an open-ended lug nut.

I have 18x8.5 + 30 in the front, and 18x9.5 + 38 in the back ... 245/40/18 + 275/35/18 back.

If I lower it do I need to roll fenders, or even at stock suspension..?

Stock height you can get away with a lot but if you lower it you will probably need to get the read fenders rolled

So basically you're saying "Keep the stock studs for whenever you decide to remove the spacers", right?

I'm pretty excited. I'm getting my new tires mounted (Hankook Ventus EVO V12, 245/40/18) and also getting my spacers thrown on this Wednesday or Thursday. Hoping it'll fill most of the fender gap that I have left.

No I'm saying you can either change back to stock studs or you can get open ended lug nuts. I'm not sure how long the studs they sent you are, but you may need open ended lug nuts even with the spacers.

Well, the rear tires rub on a big bump if I'm going fast enough... I'm thinking maybe I need less tire on that rear wheel?

^yes - less tire.

Problem you're running into is soft oem suspension.

Rolling your fenders should rid the issue. It's a lot cheaper than buying new tires.

18 x 9 +27. Currently has a 245/40-18 with a slight stretch. Previous owner of the wheels said he had some rubbing issues with no drop. On my car (dropped on S Techs) the gap seems more than sufficient. You guys think I could run 255's?

245mm is more than 9 inches and shouldn't have any stretch but you should be able to fit wider tires if you rolled the fenders

9k: yes, but you're gonna need a roll if you don't already have one. It'll be a tight fit at full load but should be ok.

Really the 45 series would be too tall...and the added difference in width from the 245 to the 255 would hardly be noticed :)

I would go with 265-35-18 though :) But you might have a rubbing problem with them....

255/40's = very close to stock size, but, if you're lowered like Jew and myself are, it's gonna rub without a doubt on the front when turning. It really depends how low you are. It will require grinding off some sheet metal bends on the wheel well at the front on both sides which is evident after you remove the wheel well plastic liner; they're only spot welded so you're not sacrificing anything by grinding it off. This followed by slitting and deforming the plastic liner to push it back will have to be done.

On another note, alike to another member here, my LF tire when turning say onto another road at 90 degrees rubs on the plastic liner shoving it against the body's sheet metal and has worn a hole through. You can see the body's sheet metal and it wearing that down also. I put up with it figuring it will sooner or later the metal will be worn enough not to be an issue. The first member who noted this thought his car must of been in an accident since it only occurred on the LF..well I'm now a second person who has noted this. I think the body panel in the wheel well area is closer for some reason on the driver's side contrast to the passenger's side.

Recommendation: If you don't mind your speedo being off, get a 255/35 or better yet, a 265/35 to get closer to stock size without having the hassle I mentioned above. IF you don't mind doing extra work and putting up with some rubbing during sharp turns, then a 255/40. If you are running a 9.5 width rim or narrower, I'd suggest a 245. Only reason I got a 255 is because that's the minimum size recommended for a 10" rim before they start to stretch a lot.

He is only talking about for the rears but that is why I make an effort to steer people towards shorter tires in the front.
