RX-8 4 EVER 08-23-2010 12:57 PM

Is there any way that the new RX-8 tale lights will fit on a 05

9krpmrx8 08-23-2010 01:00 PM

^ Are you serious?

RX-8 4 EVER 08-23-2010 01:06 PM

Yes, I like the new look. I asked a mazda parts seller and they sed no. I just want to know if there is anyway.

The Reverend 08-23-2010 01:11 PM

hey man this thread is dedicated to fitting wheels/tires

we care not for such things as tail lights

Yeah after looking at the overall specs, the diameter is almost two inches bigger than a 245/40

245mm is more than 9 inches and shouldn't have any stretch but you should be able to fit wider tires if you rolled the fenders

He has 245/40-18 Falkens on them currently and they are stretched slightly in the rear.

Really the 45 series would be too tall...and the added difference in width from the 245 to the 255 would hardly be noticed :)

I would go with 265-35-18 though :) But you might have a rubbing problem with them....

Yeah the 245/45's are way too tall, I will see if my buddy can hook me up with some 265's.

He is only talking about for the rears but that is why I make an effort to steer people towards shorter tires in the front.

I would like to run the same size tire all the way around if I can.

it was my b day yesterday and i was given some new rims to me by my boy. i just got my 8 as well so im super stoked to be in the game now. my question is though the rims that were given to are supposed to fit but im curious as to what size tires i need. the rims are 19" zinik z21 with +45 mm offset. my understanding is that that will fit. i can also exchange them for a +35 mm offset. i was told though by numberous people to stick with the +45. is there any advantages? and im getting tein s tech springs. so keep that in mind when suggesting tire sizes. thanks for the help guys. sorry im a newb.

You have to list the full specs of the wheels. Width, etc.

nikesoccer22 08-23-2010 04:56 PM

im almost a hundred percent sure its 19x10 with +45mm offset. is that what u meant? i dont mean to be ignorant but i just wanna learn and i want my car to look good. thx

Wow, 19 x 10? Paging Atilla.

J8635621 08-23-2010 05:07 PM

+45 with a 275/30

J8635621 08-23-2010 05:12 PM

9k-your options are 245/40 255/40 or 265/35 and 255 is too tall for the front. The other 2 will work but 265 will require a roll and some plastic removal not to mention that is huge on an 8 inch rim. Most likely you will have to run wider tires in the back. Btw I was saying earlier that a 245 on a 9 is damn near equivalent to a 225 on a 8 (stock). Falkens do run a little thin I believe. Maybe just run something wider like a nitro invo?

nikesoccer22 08-23-2010 05:16 PM

damn i just did double check and they are 19x10. damn will that even fit??

I will check with my buddy who owns the tire shop but I think he can get Nitto's.

J8635621 08-23-2010 05:45 PM

I guess you could do 255/35 but that's pretty damn short and if you lower it enough to get rid the wheel gap (it's inevitable lol) then you will be on the ground.

Other guy- I just told you what will fit and look best with minimal worries

nikesoccer22 08-23-2010 05:53 PM

jesus im so comfused. so i can use the 19x10 rims? sorry to be a pain but i wanna make sure. once i know if they will fit or not then i will start worrying about tires. but i dont wanna waste ur time if it wont work. haha sorry amatuer over here.

The Reverend 08-23-2010 05:56 PM

the wheels will fit

so now we are worrying about tires lol j got you covered though

nikesoccer22 08-23-2010 06:03 PM

lol alright thx guys. nice to know there are really helpful people out there. not everyone is a hater. so i think im gonna go with 245/40 in the front. and the rear should be 255/40?? or should i go with 35? i plan on lowering her with tein s techs and would really prefer not to have to roll anything cause i dont know where or how to do that.

J8635621 08-23-2010 07:41 PM

Jesus dude I just posted that you should get 275/30/19 not too long ago. Are all 4 rims the same size?

mtellam 08-24-2010 01:35 AM

18 x 9.5 Rota P-45R with Koni Yellow shocks. Wheels come with 20, 30, 25, 12, 15, 35, and 48 offsets. Any recommendations on offsets and.. will they fit??

nikesoccer22 08-24-2010 01:45 AM

sorry j i dont mean to be anal i just dont wanna screw up my new baby. i areally do appreciate the help. and yes all 4 rims are the same size. do u think i will have rubbing issues?

slvrstreak 08-24-2010 09:19 AM

Alright guys, what do you think my best option is? What will look the best and fit?
Five:AD S5-F
18X8.5 20mm
18X8.5 30mm
19X8.5 30mm
19X8.5 45mm
also what tire size? 235/35/18?

J8635621 08-24-2010 09:21 AM

Nikesoccer22-If you get the tires I told you, then it will fit perfectly fine and you will have nothing to worry about.

mtellam-You tell us what size tire you would like to run and we will tell you the offset you should choose......or vice versa.

treitz 08-24-2010 09:34 AM

Is there any chance a set of 19" wheels with 245/35/ZR19 tires on them would fit a stock 8?

Don't know the off set... sorry :-/

J8635621 08-24-2010 11:51 AM

Treitz- it's very likely they will fit but find out the offset width and bolt pattern.

Silvrstreak- there is a guy running the 8.5 +30 called shinjin-kun. Look up the pictures. 245/40 is the tire size I would suggest. That should fit on all 4 perfectly fine

Atilla 08-24-2010 11:59 AM

Congrats on maintaining your patience J.
