well guess im waiting thanks guys

The guy doesn't know his product at all WTF. Tire size is on sidewall and offset is on the backside of the rim. The rim may work but likely not with those tires and not with extra work.

*without extra work

use the edit button you post whore ;)

I would but it's absent on the mobile version of the site. Someone should look into that.

18X9 VRG2 wheels with 265/35/18 Bridgestone R-G11
Hi.
I saw that combo at this article. I think it looks awesome ( check the article ). Proven with plenty of photos ( many comments come with no proven fitment / photos ). What do you think guys? I think that will be my upgrade. I have an 07 RX8 with stock wheels/tires now ( 225/45/18s). Article in question: http://www.modified.com/tech/modp-10.../photo_01.html Thanks. Jaime.____________________________________________ ____________ |
i don't see how that's a 'will it fit' question...
clearly it fits and it's functional. btw, tl;dr |

9krpm...do you think I would notice any performance loss with the wheel being a inch narrower? Would they look too set into the wheel well? Guy is down to $400 on these
|
Performance loss? Yes a little and it's only a half inch narrower than stock. On a street driven car you will be fine.
|
I mean a loss in handling..of course with a bigger wheel I will have some loss in acceleration
|
I was referring to both actually.
|
will these wheels with a 35 series tire be bigger than my 18s with 45 series? Bc they might actually weigh less than stock. I will have to look into it. I just think these look great on rx8s
|
35 series and 45 series means nothing without width.....if you didn't know that, then I suggest you look up what the numbers mean.
|
Well I was thinking a 45 series on a 18 would be about the same height as 19 with 35 series..I'm a noob I suck.sorry

The 35 number means aspect ratio, in other words, the height of the tire. A 35 tire is lower than a 45 tire, but the larger width number ( 265 vs stock 225 ) means the tire is wider. In order to compensate for the wider stance ( 265 vs 225 ), the aspect ratio is drecreased ( from 45 stock to 35 ). The diametre should be very close to the stock diametre. Looks awesome. Someone before mentioned that this post of mine did not have anything to do with "will it fit"? question. Obviously the article in question says it does, and shows nice photos, but there are no comments about the need to work on the fenders either rolling over the edges or any other inner work. That is why I ask, it would be hard to purchase a set like this only to find out the set up rubs. I am going to inquire more at that sight. If it is a free from fender/body issues set up, it looks and for sure must perform great. Check this out: http://www.modified.com/features/mod...x-8/index.html |
Guys I really do appreciate the input. I love these wheels and for 400 bucks I don't thi.nk I can pass it up,unless of course it doesn't fit or will be a problem.
|
245/35/19 is what size you want. You still need to look up the way tire sizes work.
|
Jaimesix that article never mentions offset. For some reason I felt like doing the legwork for you and found the sizes/offsets that the Volk G2 is available in. http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/2009/pro...8&for=domestic
The article says 18x9 and +35 or +50 will both fit. +35 will most likely require a fender roll if you have a 265/35. You could go with 18x9.5 +35 or +43 also (my choice). The +35 will probably need a fender roll as well but some people have sworn they didn't need one. If you are going for purely looks, then 19s would look even better. If you weren't aware, those are not cheap wheels by any stretch of the imagination. |
J86..will a 215/35/19 be a decent fit for ?e or should I pass?
|
Too short imo. Your speedometer will read fast, you will probably bend those rims due to the shorter sidewall, and you will have more wheel gap. 245/35/19, 225/40/19, 235/35/19 are the tires you should look at and in that order.
|
If the rims come with those tires, by all means drive on them till they wear out. Just don't keep that size or the wheel and tire gods will frown on you.
|
Would I be able to put a 245 or 225 on those rims?

I am trying to get a reply from the article author in order to get the right info about the offset. I am not interested in body work, I need a set up that will fit the car as is. I am not into looks, I like good looks but performance is my number one concern. I despise the look of cars with oversized wheels. I do not want to use 19 in wheels. I am fine with the 18s, plus I think, my personal opinion, RX8s look much better with 18 in wheels. No 19s for me at all. I would rather have more space for good gripping rubber than skimpy rubber and big wheels. Hope to get the exact infor from the author of this article soon. |
