19x8 / 19x10

would it work with 245/35/19 and 275/30/19
38offset front and 40offset rear.

???? im buying the tires tommorow, DESPERATLY need to kno!! Thanks!!
If not, what would you reccomend that will work 100%??

NoPistonZ 05-06-2008 06:32 AM

Fronts np.....Rears will rub since wheels will jet out of the fenders just slightly. Need a higher offset to pull it in (+45 or +48). 275/30/19s with a 19x10 +48 sneeks through with a nice drop if I'm not mistaken.

phrozenhandlez 05-06-2008 09:03 AM

k, ill try that.. can anyone confirm that? how sure are you?
thanks

Hello, I am lookign at a set of axis gravity wheels. they ar 18x9 all the way round w/ a 40 offest. I just called axis and they said these would not fit the front. I was wondering if anyone has used something like this in the front. I found a decent deal on em and was hoping there was a way.

NoPistonZ 05-06-2008 03:36 PM

That's a close one, but I think as long as you use a 245/35/18 all the way around, you shouldn't have a steering issue. Rear is fine.

Anyone using 18x9s up front with a +40 or lower?

dannobre 05-06-2008 06:55 PM

I have 18X10.5 +43 on the front and they are OK with 265 Advan tires ( about the same as most 275's)

Those should fit

Mr.Sparkle 05-06-2008 10:22 PM

18*9 +30 all around

255/40

or 245/40

9krpmrx8 05-07-2008 11:48 AM

I know a guy selling 18x 10 BMW M5 rims in great condition cheap. The bolt pattern seems to be the same. Will they fit????!!!!!!

Feras 05-07-2008 12:00 PM

i ask again, plz somebody respond
18x8.5 with a 40 offset with 245-40-18s atm
should i stay the same, go up to 255-40 (35?)-18, or go to 265-35-18

bran702 05-07-2008 05:48 PM

OFFSET Q.

what offset to get?

Front: 19x8.5

35 or 45?

Rear: 19x9.5

35 or 45?

amb39 05-07-2008 08:52 PM

I'm going conservative with 18x8 front on 225/45, 18x9.5 rears on 245/40s... which I know will fit based on previous posts (and small tire size). But will this larger setup in back mess with the odometer settings or is the sensor in front? Also, going for performance here, will the staggered setup make a noticeable difference in acceleration/corners (assuming same tire and density)? Seems like with a 50/50 weight ratio a non-staggered setup would make sense but I see a lot of staggers on this forum.

Cheers:beerchug:

amb39 05-08-2008 12:53 AM

Ok so edit that last post... found the sticky on the staggered performance question. Not good for my first post. But does anyone know where the odometer sensor is? Front or back? And at what point does running a larger wheel/tire combo affect this?

May work in the rear. What is the offset? anything less than +45 will have issues. Forget the front unless it's a really high offset and you run 245s. 18x8, 8.5 or 9 is recommended up front.

Either should be OK for both. The higher the offset, the more it gets "tucked" into the wheel wells and gets pushed back towards your calipers. Keep that in mind. Spoke design is important if you want to clear those with wider wheels.

245/40/18 or 255/35/18 on 18x8.5s should be fine all around at +40. I'd pass on 265 due to performance degradation and fitment.

Ok, time for me to ask :lol2:

I read the entire topic but still want to be sure.

I am looking for new wheels. First choice goes to Iforged Classic

- 19" 8.5 front
- 19" 9.5 rear

Now from what I understand, you can order any offset you want.

I was thinking following offsets

- 35 front
- 42 rear (dont ask me where I got this from, but read somewhere it would be best for a 9.5 wide)

Tyres would be

- 245/35/19 front
- 275/30/19 rear

Now I would like to know if this is going to rub somewhere and/or if the wheels would be tucked or rather perfect in looks. If anyone has better ideas I would like to hear them.

I am running KW varIII. Also including a picture how the car is right now, meaning ride height.

if so what size should i go for with
18x8.5+35

Those rears should just sneak in! But I'd wait for someone to chime in with this rear config.

Plenty of room....for both :uhh:

18x9 +45 (235,40,18)
18x10 +44 (255,40,18)

the car is lowered about 1.8"
??

thanks

^^ Should be good....

This is not directed at anyone in particular......just generally..........

I really wish people would look around in the thread...and try to understand before they ask the same question that has been asked already........:(

Your tires will stretch, especially the rears. I have 255s on 9.5" +35 rims and it looks jank imo...however, I am getting 275s and an oh so popular fender roll I think :banghead:

NoPistonZ 05-11-2008 01:27 PM

I had my wheels put on Friday and took some pics of how they look on the back of the car.

They're 255/35/18s on an 18x9.5 +35. Not a big fan of the "stretch", but 275s will fix that, but not without some mild lip roll I'd think.

There is plenty of room in there even with some Tein S-Techs. I'm looking to use 275s, and maybe get some Tein Basic coilovers to really dial in the drop cause it's not low enough for my taste :)

ok i want to ask now

im considering picking up a used set of axis reverbs from a 240sx owner and i know the offsets are way diffrant then the rx8 stock. but is it worth the drive to even test fit them

front 18x8.5 +16 235/40/18
rear 18x9.5 +20 265/35/18

thanks for the help

As per my photo above, the 9.5" wheel has a +35 offset and is flush with the outer fender. Your +20 offset will jet out past the outer fender by 15mm (approx 5/8ths of an inch!) So unless you use 235 tires which will stretch the life out of them and don't lower the car, it may work. IMO, it will look like ass.

Hi

Found some nice rims on the web with these specs, WILL THEY FIT? :)
