I will need to get new tires next spring/summer. I was running 245/35/19 tires on my 19x8.5 +35 rims with no rubbing. I also have the Tein H-Techs. I'm thinking of getting 255/35/19 tires next. What's the widest tire size I can go with without rolling the fenders or looking stupid (rims are only 8.5" wide)?

Here's what the wheels look like with 245/35/19 tires:

255/35/19 will fit on 8.5" wheel. I used to run that size. Keep in mind the tire may rub on the front wheel well liner.

Thanks, pdxhak.

Will a negative camber (-1.0) take care of the rubbing? If not, I guess I'll have to shave the liner or something.

I'm -1.7 upfront and still rubbed. Others have run this size and not rubbed. I think it is a combination of offset, tire size, camber and ride height. LOL so lots of variables at play.

Okay guys, here the deal:

I'm currently +31 all around, lowered on S-techs with 245/40/18s. I'm currently using 10mm spacers.

What I'm thinking of doing is replacing these 10mm spacers with a 20mm spacer, or maybe even a 25mm, making the offset either +21 or +16 all around. I understand that I would need to roll fenders to make this happen. Basically what I need to know is whether or not this is safe to do on just springs; no aftermarket shocks, no coilovers. It's also difficult to find specific offset pictures, so I don't know if +16 would be going too far, because I feel like it might be.

Personally, I wouldn't go through the trouble of rolling fenders simply to run spacers. Technically, I don't think it would be 'unsafe' to run that setup on your suspension, but the greater question is, "Why?"

I think 20mm spacers would be the better buy. Yes, the wheels will look like they are sticking out, but if you get coilovers that will disappear.
