Sorry, this is kinda late, but 'better late than never, never late is better"
As before, I mentioned I was interested in 18 x 9.0 +36 on 245/40/18
I have looked through so many pics, and even PM'ed topgear, and seen pics on EUG's car which is 18 x 9.0 +35 on 245/40/18. He is lowered on MS shocks/springs.
Since there are hardly anyone here with Bilstein B8 + Eibach prokit, you guys giving the advice might not be familiar with the drop that it has. here are photos at various angles.
I would say I have no wheel gap, in some of the pics you see me putting 2 or 3 fingers in there, but that is from a very steep angle representing the amount of room I have for offset.
Wheel gap would be the space that is perpendicular to the car's side, which there isn't much from the pics. Lots of you say I will be fine with 18 x 9.0 + 36 with no wheel rub. But what about when I start cornering and turning the front tires?
I am sorry if I sound long winded, I just want to make absolutely sure that it will fit because I can't refund $2000 of rims.
Take a look at my pics below. It's 18 x 7.5 +42

Footman - Thanks for the plethora of pictures though. Your worry is unwarranted however. (If I were to drop $2k on wheels I would go more aggressive!)

Just curious, but do your tires rub on the fender liner now? Mine don't and I'm lower offset than that. I think 245/40 is more than safe. 245/40 on 9 +30 has been shown multiple times to be safe even without a fender roll and does not rub on the liner. +36 should be fine.

Positive scrub radius will give better feedback and turn in in general but im not really sure if this is absolutely true for the RX-8.
Lower the ET in general will make a cars behavior from safe and steady (numb feeling) towards more feedback and more informative.
Havent been playing with ET on the rx-8 so I really dont know for sure how it reacts, my racing wheels are ET 45 so thats close to stock.
