looking for a wheel setup. i was thinking 18x9 all around or 18x8.5 front and 18x9 rear running 245/40 on all wheels. don't know much about wheels but how does this setup sound? and i'm also looking for an offset number. want it to be aggressive but will only need a slight fender roll. will be dropped on stechs. any input would be nice thanks!

quick question:
opinions on whether a :

235/35/19 ET 33 front (19 x 8.5 wheel)

265/30/19 ET 40 rear (19 x 10 wheel)

Will fit with no issues. Probably with coilovers for height control and stiffening a little.

With 245/40's you might rub a bit on the fender plastic but it's an easy fix and well worth it

Cool. I was thinking those sizes too, but want a tiny bit stretched look, and wanted to make sure everything tucked in nicely.

I personally reckon your sizes would be better if you reckon they will fit well?

would any arch twiddling etc be needed you think?

BTW another model I'm looking at is 19 x 8.5 et 33. (front ) and 19 x 10 Et 43 rear.. still OK? (tiny difference i know.. in fact et 43 should be a bit safer no? Or do i start worrying about inside of wheel clearance?)

What you suggested should be fine with no work, and what I suggested MAY need the fenders rolled but I'd bet not. At the very least, 245s in the front.

a 245 & 265 setup might be a good compromise.

will a 245 on a 8.5 rim look a wee bit stretched (i.e I don't want a vertical sidewall)

same with a 275 on a 10?

I'm pretty sure the 235 / 265 combination do that... I used a little online calc which suggest so...

thanks for all help so far!

A 245 will be almost verticle on a 8.5" wheel. That said, you don't want a stretched tire on a wheel that doesn't require stretching to fit; looks bad.

Nice. What's your offset?

Edit: Never mind, I just saw it´s 27

OK final query... (ha!)

What about:
19 x 8 with 225/35/19 ET40
19 x 9.5 265/30/19 ET40

I have seen matched ETs front and back and it causes me irrational panic for some reason...

I think having big tyres all round just increases cost but offers no other advantages really.

Basically he is saying you are crazy for thinking that. Have you driven an rx8 with wide tires all around or are you just basing your theory off a guess?

Our car is way more stable with equal tires all around; unless you have a turbo.

Looking to get the Tenzo Tracer Rims...

sizes come as:
18x8.5 +48
18x8.5 +42
18x8.5 +32

Planning on using 245/40/18 tires....Car is stock...+32 best option?
