Ross are you basing that off experience or a theory? He is s/c by the way.

Yeah my theory is based on this. If worried about performance, you wouldnt be fitting massive 19 inch deep dish rims.
If tracking yes, equal fat tyres all round = good. My car (supercharged) will have OZ ultraleggers, in 18s, with 245 and 265 tyres (not fitted yet! stay tuned for pics! waiting for rear rubber to arrive) For a looks car which is NA, a slimmer front will be a cheaper wheel, with cheaper tyres, and a fat rear looks nice, otherwise, you may as well stick with 245s all around. Thats my theory anyway. I still appreciate all the help offered regarding fitments etc |
I think wider looks better and the price difference is like 20-50 per year. I spend more than that on xbox live. Long live nonstaggered
|
fair enough. does non staggered not make fitting in the front wheel harder etc as its doing the steering?
|
if you pick the right sizes that is not a problem :)
|
It's easier to fit the front wheels than the rear wheels. For example I put 15mm spacers on to make 19x9 +25 all around. I dont rub up front with stock fenders but I had to roll my rear fenders.

OK final query... (ha!)
What about: 19 x 8 with 245/35/19 ET40 19 x 9.5 275/30/19 ET40 I have seen matched ETs front and back and it causes me irrational panic for some reason... Will those tyres fit under the arches OK etc? or will 235 265 be better? |
BTW to explain, I am paranoid about this, after fitting some 19 x 9.5 TSW Nogaros to back of another 8, with a 265/30/19 tyre on +35 offset expecting it to fit with no issue, and ended up with it stick right out past the wheel arch!
|
Camber plays a big part in that. The 9.5 +40 with a 275 will sit in effectively the same spot as the setup you mention. This is why I had the series of questions I had people answer before I would help them.
|
and how low the car is =]
|
ie camber
|
yeah cool. a tweak of camber sorted out the other car nicely, plus a small roll.
Plus I think slightly smaller tyres will help with room and give a tiny bit stretched look too.... I'm still kind of baffled as to the front back differential though.... with both ET 40 but different widths.... |
I don't understand what you are baffled about.
|
I'm baffled how the offset being the same for the 2 wheels will make the outsides edges look.
After all, one is 8 wide the other is 9.5 wide.... Will it mean the edge of the dish will be pushed out to same point, just rear is wider.... Or will they be diferent? While I love wheels, and correctly done ones, sometimes it blows my mind...just when i think I have got it, I get more confused. |
Edge of front wheels is 10mm farther out from stock. Rears are about 25mm I think. There are numerous calculators online for that.
|
Not sure if its been brought up already (not reading through 237 pages)
18x10 +30 NT-03's with 275/35R18 On coilovers, so height is adjustable. (generally @ -2") |
^Lots of rubbing, all around...
|
hey guys.
im looking at getting some te37s but unsure on which offset i should get. i want 19x9.5 all round. and preferably the same offset all around. i have tein coilovers lined up to go with them. could i please get some advice on offsets. i dont mind rolling the rear guards. and also a recommended tire size.... and i dont mind having stretched tires. thanks in advance |
This is will it fit not what should I get.

Yeah not sure if you want an aggressive stance like 9.5 +22 all around with 255's, or 10.5 +22 with 245's, or 9.5 +35 with 275's all around.
And the 9.5 +35 would fit fine with not much work right? Either Cambered rear or rolled rear guards? And I'm well aware that these will be detrimental to performance. My car is hardly ever tracked and on my stock rims I'm running semi slicks in case I get the urge to go to the track. Also on my other set of rims I have kumho ku36... These are not for function...but attention |
Totally different looks. What do you want? Wheel outside the fender or even with fender? Is your car lowered?

To make the 9.5+22 offset work, what kind of mods would I need to do?

That all sounds good but 255/35 is pretty damn short. That's just my opinion though.
