Obviously not a normal situation lol

Since you want more opinions and I answered the last 2 times, I'll just say you will need to shave the bumper tab on both of those FOR SURE. +21 Look at the last picture Ross Dawg posted in the aggressive wheel fitment thread. He is 9 +25 with 245s (needs to shave the bumper tab more in fact lol).

Okay, so how would +16 compare to this? Would more need to be done other than shaving tabs and rolling fenders? Anyone else running a similar setup?

I feel like the +21 setup would look perfect if I go low enough, but maybe the 16 would look even better? I don't know because I can't find any pictures to compare with. Late response, I know. Thanks for the help so far

The Reverend 02-22-2011 06:02 PM

16 would not be too much more imo

you are not in the realm of pulling your fenders unless you want to run really wide tires for some reason. roll it really flat though

i can confirm 10+15 does not need a pull with 245/40 and several degrees of camber, need to go low though, like damage your undercarriage and smash your oil pan low

run with it

The Reverend 02-22-2011 06:04 PM

did some edits ^

of course no one listens

So I guess this setup isn't really a good idea for a daily driver? I want to go just a bit lower than Ross Dawg to give you a general idea.

That's pretty low man... I mean I only have 1.5" of ground clearance. Driving this low requires a whole different driving style... which is a PITA for daily driving.

Yeah you are pretty low. I know I want to go low but I guess I don't know how low just yet as I have never gone lower than my S-Techs (and I've never driven a car lower than my 8 on my s-techs).

Maybe your height is just right? How does it work out for you?

Ross_Dawg 02-23-2011 10:23 AM

I had s-techs... then got coils. Im about 1.25" lower in the rear than stechs and 1" lower in the front. I love the look and I don't mind driving low, as long as you have decent roads and keep a constant eye out for bumps/potholes you'll be fine. I'd get the +16 if I were you...

Grog 02-23-2011 10:45 AM

The roads around here aren't the best but they certainly are not the worst. I have a couple of buddies that are very low that have no issues and are telling me to go low as well. I'm definitely gonna try it and if it doesn't work out then, well lol I guess I won't be trying it again. :eyetwitch

You think so? I'm itching to run a low offset like this but I'm skeptic of whether or not it will actually look good/aggressive because my tires are not stretched. Can't find any similar setups either...

J8635621 02-23-2011 10:46 AM

Buy the set of spacers used and worst case you just get your money back?

Rotary-RX8 02-23-2011 10:55 AM

Really stupid question but i tried sifting through this gigantic thread but didnt find my answer. Lets say i get 19x8.5 or 9.5 fronts and 19x10.5 rears with +22 offset all around. And i get 245 and 275 in the rears. And i get new wheels same width and rim size but totally different offset. Would i still be able to run the tires from the old rims ? ( 245 275?

The Reverend 02-23-2011 10:58 AM

yes

do you know what you are getting into with those +22

Rotary-RX8 02-23-2011 11:00 AM

^ Aggresiveness LOL ??? :Drooling_:cool::scratchhe:Peace:

If youre asking what rims, im considering the Volk Ce28N genesis :Drooling_

The Reverend 02-23-2011 11:02 AM

lol yes but are you prepared for what will be involved to fit them

i wouldnt run that on springs

The tires would obviously work on the rims (width and diameter = same) but they may not fit the car since you didn't give us the offset of the hypothetical rims you might get later.

You didn't find the answer to this question because you don't understand what offset means I guess. The "answer" is everywhere in this thread lol.

Like Rev said....10.5 +22 is not gonna happen without lots of work and having your car lowered to the ground.............................and 275s on those? That makes me question your sanity.

Since I'm starting to think about going the +16 route more and more now, I would like some clarification on how low I would have to go. When you say smash your oil pan low are you basically saying slammed? If I went as low as Ross and had 1.5'' of clearance would this still work out and look good? Or would I have to go lower

The Reverend 02-23-2011 11:20 AM

thats a tough question

post a pic of how you want yours to look

J8635621 02-23-2011 11:22 AM

I think you want Ross to take a picture of his car with spacers and him holding a ruler out to show where 10mm more would sit?

Ross_Dawg 02-23-2011 11:27 AM

It would be almost impossible without flared fenders or overfenders and -3+ camber

Edit: sorry that comment is for the 10.5 +22 w 275's

The Reverend 02-23-2011 11:28 AM

remember also that ross iirc is on 19s so if you want to cover as much tire as he does you will be lower to the ground...

If you want to get technical, Tilt did 10.5 +15 with 265s and his are just pulled. Granted he is the only one so far and he has magical powers.

Yeah I knew he was on 19s but I did not know how that would play in to the comparison. It's difficult for me to just grab a picture because a lot of the pictures in the aggressive wheel fitment thread don't have specs. I found these pictures and they look very similar to how I want my car to sit

Attachment 248407

I would imagine his specs are close to the +16 I'm considering? Maybe higher? Maybe lower? I can't tell. I think those are 18s but I can't really tell if they are 9 or 10 wide
