You will rub.

Front Tires; no smaller than 245 width.

Im wondering what size tires I should be running for this setup, I have no suspension upgrades yet. Will this setup fit without rubbing??

shouldnt a person ask that before buying the wheels? especially with such an offset?

NgoRX8 06-15-2008 08:00 PM

yea... that's guna be hard to fit w/o issues.

Can anyone help please?

2) Axis - Shine
F: 19 x 8.5 +35 F w/ 245/40/ZR19
R: 19 x 9.5 +40 R w/275/35/ZR19

I asked them to give me Falken 452s but hey didn’t come in so they suggested Dunlop Sport Maxx Actually may be a better tire from what I have read.

When we mounted one rear to check it out it was okay, but the front and the 245/40/19 rubbed up front when you turned the wheels about 80% out at the back outside of the well where the corner of the tire comes in to contact with the outside rear portion of the well (3 inches into the well there is protrusion where the plastic sticks in to the well with metal behind it). Here is my question if I go with a 245/35/ZR19 there is a 3.1% difference in height 25.8 vs. 26.6 from front to rear.

The guys at the tire shop said that if you have less than 5% difference it should not affect braking (kicking in the antilock) or DCS. Is that true?

My original set up had only 0.6% difference and if I went with a 255/35/ZR19 there would only be a 2.1% difference but I fear the 255/35/ZR19 might rub as well because they would be wider?
What do you think it is only 3/8 of and inch or so, but it wil just clear with the smaller tire.

If I use the 245/35/ZR19 will it work. Do you think the size difference will affect the driving or the antilock brakes and DCS? If so I am bot going to do that.

I do not want to get stuck with owning tires and wheel set up that doesn’t work.:uhh:

So do you think the 245/35/ZR19 will work with the 275/35/ZR19 in back?
:banghead:

I would gratly appreciate it?

so what should i do? i love these rims, i want to keep em? is it impossible?

chrism 06-15-2008 11:00 PM

custom suspension, wide body flares from panspeed, dont lower your car, go over bumps or have any one else in the car

paulmasoner 06-15-2008 11:02 PM

its not impossible, can be done, but it may require one or more of the following: major suspension modification, rolled fenders, machined wheels(some wheels can be machined to effectively raise the offset #) and serious camber.....

up to you to find out exactly what it will take and if its worth it

the fronts will not give you a problem, only the rear. you can get them to fit better. not as bad as previous post might suggest. run 235 and 265 tires. it will be stretch but not 240 style. then give it a little camber all around, about 1.5 and 2.5 should be fine. if that does not work consider rolling your rear fender, only $100.

all this is worth it if you like the wheels. i should know. who likes tucking wheels now a days anyways. flush is the way to go!

19x8.5 with What offset?? (Stern ST-1)

I'm considering Stern ST-1 Beast 19" wheels for my car.
I've been doing some research on what size rims to get and I'm pretty much set to 19x8.5 with 225/40/19 tires.
But I am really confused with "Offset". When I look at the Stern Fitment site, it shows as 19x8.5+45mm offset, but on tirerack.com I've seen 19x8.5+38mm for the offset. I've seen some other site shows 19x8.5+48mm as well.

Does this "offset" number differ by the wheel design? If so, what should I be getting? I do want the offset to be very close to the edge of the fender, but not have to roll the fenders. I guess I can play safe and put a spacers in between to achieve the exact offset I want later...

255/50R16 on stock automatic 16s? (16x8 +50?) (And will it look absolutely ridiculous or just odd?)

philsbluerx8 06-19-2008 11:58 PM

i have a set of 5zigen fno1rc-polished 18x8.5 +38 offset with 245 tires all around, and i will soon install a set of tein basic coilover, i am curious about how much i can drop to avoid a fender rolling?

Mr.Sparkle 06-21-2008 10:35 AM

18*9 +30 all around
