Tires may be too tall and rub the inner fenders when you turn with spacers. Also roll fenders and trim the rear bumper tab. I'd suggest 245/35 instead to get rid of the first part and 15mm spacers since you aren't very low.

I was gonna choose 255 because they'd only be .2% off the stock size, while the 245s would be 1.9% off. Granted, 245 would be the shorter size. The D-specs also seem to allow the car to sit a little lower than on stock shocks, so I have consider that. Thanks for the suggestions!

Sweet, glad somebody bought Sifu's wheels. If you want to add the spacers, roll your fenders front and rear, shave rear tabs and you should be good to go. A little bit of camber wouldn't hurt either if you still rub.

FYI, I have 19x9 +25 with 245/35/19 but am probably much lower than you and I'm at -1.9 F and -1.8 R camber.

Yeah, I was surprised the wheels lasted so long on the market! So with 20mm spacers, I guess I'd be at around the same offset as you, but not as low. Thank you for the advice!

Since the speedo is off by a little bit anyway, 245s would make it more accurate fwiw. D-specs don't make much difference in ride height. 245s would definitely be the way to go if you plan on putting spacers. He is lower so the wheels tuck in a little more. Keep that in mind.

There was a discussion a while back about ride height being affected by different shocks, but I can't find it right now. I did post a before and after pic in my thread about this setup here: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-wheels-tires-brakes-suspension-55/d-specs-h-techs-some-impressions-pics-150686/ The car definitely dropped more than the 1"/.3" that Tein claims. I was just talking with member Sifu, who used to have Koni's and S-techs, and he agrees that the Koni's let the car drop a little more as well.

As for the tire size, I'm swaying more towards the 245s now!

J8635621 03-06-2011 03:07 PM

Koni's do for sure 100%...they are actually shorter.

9krpmrx8 03-06-2011 06:19 PM

I don't care, despite what I have read everywhere, shocks do affect ride height. I replaced my shocks (Stock Tokico) and springs (S techs) with new ones due to a sagging issue I was having, sent the springs back to the manufacturer, Tein tested them, said they were fine, and now those same springs are on another members car doing just fine. My shocks did not appear to be blown but they were, results in my suspension sagging. My replacement shocks (KYB) and springs (Tein S Techs) are doing great.

I can't say that I fully understand how they affect ride height so much because only the springs should but replacing my shocks fixed the issue.

18 x 8 +33 you mean? They won't be exactly flush without 10MM spacers.

phrenetiK 03-06-2011 09:23 PM

i have 10mm spacers on em already

J8635621 03-06-2011 09:42 PM

8 +23 with 245s should be sorta flush with s-techs

phrenetiK 03-06-2011 09:54 PM

thats what i thought. gonna head to sals and get rid of some of my camber next saturday. checked the tire wear on my old volks and it was horrible. i prolly had 3 months left till they were to the wires. and i think im only running -1.2

J8635621 03-06-2011 09:55 PM

-1.2? That's stock

The Reverend 03-06-2011 10:01 PM

what are stock toe/caster settings?

Ross_Dawg 03-06-2011 10:04 PM

Pretty sure toe is zero'd out and caster is around 8?

phrenetiK 03-06-2011 10:21 PM

idk then :[

i threw away my alignment paper.

J8635621 03-06-2011 10:38 PM

thanks

J8635621 03-07-2011 10:33 AM

nope not even close in the rear

The Reverend 03-07-2011 10:34 AM

holy tire size batman

J8635621 03-07-2011 10:38 AM

Rev - There's a guy running that size in the rear in Houston. His car isn't lowered and he has no wheel gap. He wants to put s-techs on it.

Should be pretty flush then. Time for coil overs :)

eazypest 03-07-2011 10:39 AM

lol ok so 10.5 wont work kool its my boys 350z rims ( not stock) he has like 3 sets and i wanted to see if theyd fit. looks like not happening

J8635621 03-07-2011 10:41 AM

With different tires, a good bit of fender work, being really low on coilovers, and some magic they could fit.

Sadly i wanted to run the same set up, but like the others said its going to take alot of work (yes, i know it broke my heart too). Ive seen it done and it looks ugly. The amount of camber it takes to get them to fit to me doesnt look good. Ill be running 19x9.5 +22 all around with 245 maybe 255 rubber. Even that will take a bit of work to fit but well see. Hopefully it looks good.
