aggro without shaving tabs isnt going to happen

Schartz 03-09-2011 09:28 PM

Alright Question.

I have some RPF1's that are 18x8.5 35mm offset in the front and 18x9.5 45mm in the rear. I like the rears how they are more "concave" other then my fronts witch are "bubbled" out.

If I wanted the to get new wheels so they are all concave but are more flush then the rear 45mm offset would i get a lower mm offset? and if I did, wouldnt that make them "bubbled" out? Since my fronts are a lower mm (and they are bubbled) So should i just use a spacer to make them more flush?

Alright i dont mind it. I would rather not to though. I swear you didnt shave yours did you lol ??

Ross_Dawg 03-09-2011 09:30 PM

Dude, we're not giving you shit, we were telling you what it takes to fit. 10 +25 REQUIRES a shaved bumper tab in the rear if you dont want any rubbing. If you can live with the rubbing on every little bump in the road, then yes they will fit.

10 +35 on the other hand might not require work on those tabs (depending on tire width) and would still be "flush".

Rotary-RX8 03-09-2011 09:36 PM

^ LOL i know man im just playin.

Hey as long as its flush and has the stance of that s2000 ill consider going +35. But that means i wont be able to post in the aggressive wheel fitment thread :tear::wallbash:

Appreciate it bro. This is the last time i post in this thread i promise. Thanks for the help.

No, the reason the 8.5's are convex are because of the wheel width. If you got 9.5 +35 all around, they would be just as concave as the 9.5 +45 becuase of how the rpf1 is machined (bolts sit farther in rather than the spokes pulling in). It's confusing, I know. And Im not exactly sober to sorry if htat doesnt make sense.

:D: It won't be as flush as the s2000 pictured. I'm sure he has shaved his bumper tabs, lol. And s2000's have staggered fitment from the factory, in case you were still into the staggered look.

Rotary-RX8 03-09-2011 09:41 PM

^ I want as flushed as that though :banghead: Fuck it. Getting the +25 and shaving every tab on the car. Enoughs enough !! YOud think our big ass fenders would be able to take a set of wheels lol.

Ross_Dawg 03-09-2011 09:53 PM

There we go! That's the spirit :evil_laug

tiltmode43 03-09-2011 10:22 PM

Our fenders can take quite a bit, it just takes a bit of work to make it work

Rotary-RX8 03-09-2011 10:27 PM

^ you would know :)

pdxhak 03-09-2011 10:40 PM

if you want to be a real baller then you need to run negative offsets

HaydonGS 03-09-2011 10:47 PM

18x9.5 with 265/35/18 with coil-overs
what offsets should i be looking at for flush fitments.

Ross_Dawg 03-09-2011 10:52 PM

+30 or lower, depending on camber

HaydonGS 03-09-2011 11:01 PM

I was thinking in the +20-+22 range. not sure if i wanna dive into the +15 area

Ross_Dawg 03-09-2011 11:23 PM

rolled fenders, shaved rear tabs and camber and it can be done with +20. +15 requires pulled fenders for 265's.

Don't make me space out some 9.5's just to say it's been done! lmao

Better yet, factory wheels with 65mm spacers. ROFL.

9krpmrx8 should be all over that :p:

Advan Model T5's 19x8.5 +38 for front 19x9.5 +42 for the rear wrapped in Dunlop star specs 245/35 - Front, 275 / 30 rear

I kinda guessed on the tire size, I don't want any "stretch"

Tanabe Pro 5 coilovers and RacingBrake BBK

Thanks for the input!

J8635621 03-11-2011 08:19 AM

Do the rear size all around or 19x10 +42 all around with 275s

WantedTwo 03-11-2011 08:26 AM

Reasoning? I don't want any "poke" either.

J8635621 03-11-2011 08:27 AM

It's your car and you can do what you want, but there is no reason to go staggered. There won't be any poke. https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-multimedia-photo-gallery-6/jedi54-version-2-01-a-212870/

WantedTwo 03-11-2011 08:33 AM

Jedi is running 19x8.5 +38 for front 19x10 +42 in the rear. Thats who I based my numbers off of. I really like how flush he is but he has a bit of stretch on the rear which is why I dropped the rear rim width but kept the tire size.

J8635621 03-11-2011 08:37 AM

Not 100% positive, but I'm willing to bet that the star specs are wider than those Toyos even in the same size. I don't think 8.5 +38 is really flush but to each his own.

WantedTwo 03-11-2011 08:38 AM

Ok, so knowing what I'm looking for, what size and offset would you recomend to me? I don't want to roll my fenders and don't want any rub.
