lol you have a turbo and all that but you don't want to roll your fenders? Does not compute. I've already said what I think you should run, but you will for sure need to roll your fenders.

You could run the setup you asked about first without rolling fenders, but I honestly don't think that is the best setup.

WantedTwo 03-11-2011 09:24 AM

I understand why you don't like staggered setup and I understand that it is not ideal. Now understand where I'm coming from; I don't track the car, and given my power level I need something wide on the back end. I don't want to roll my fenders because every 8 that I've seen with rolled fenders looks funny.

I am all over that. I bought 10mm spacers but now I am thinking of 15mm :)

The Reverend 03-11-2011 09:27 AM

you will need to roll the fenders with the 275s in the back jedi's are rolled

you shouldn't be able to tell a roll it is just the inner part of the fender

J8635621 03-11-2011 09:27 AM

If they look funny with rolled fenders, something was done WRONG.

Rotary-RX8 03-11-2011 09:28 AM

You shouldnt notice rolled fenders unless you look from underneath. I was like you and didnt want to roll my fenders. But it looks like im going to have to if i want to run an aggressive set up to say the least.

J8635621 03-11-2011 09:30 AM

I understand you don't NEED wide wheels and tires up front, but if you can do it and you are spending thousands of dollars I would say to get the best looking setup. That's my .02

WantedTwo 03-11-2011 09:46 AM

It's possible the ones I looked at were done wrong, If you say the 19x9.5 42 with 275’s will fit all the way around I'll look into it. If the 10’s will fit I’d rather those but as I said, Looking at jedi’s set up his tires are stretched a bit. Will a 285 on tens fit?

J8635621 03-11-2011 09:50 AM

Star specs are wider than Jedi's tires. 285s should fit in the rear with a roll and trim the bumper tab. I don't think that would work in the front. Eh it isn't much taller than the 275s so it might work all around.

There are no 19" star specs.

J8635621 03-11-2011 10:01 AM

More I think about it, the 9.5 +42 with 275s would make you happy.

WantedTwo 03-11-2011 10:28 AM

FML.. You're right there are no 19 star specs.... Looks like I'm going with kdw-2's, I've had them before and they are pretty nice.

Ross_Dawg 03-11-2011 10:41 AM

Damn, went from some of the best tires to kdw2's? Completely different tire choices...

Well nevermind, you said you're not going to track so those should do just fine.

I know what you mean - I wanted the Star Specs too... and then I found out they didn't make them in 19". I looked at the KDW's as a serious possibility, but I'm leaning more towards the Hankook Ventus V12s now. I just wanted a tire that ran a little wider than the Falkens I have on my stock wheels right now (although the FK-452s have probably been the best tire I've used so far). Plus the Hankooks have received stellar reviews so far. The KDWs seem to be a really noisy tire.

rx 8speciale 03-11-2011 11:21 AM

hankook v12 is the best tire i have used better than fk452 in my opinion. im running them for about a week now with incredible grip capabilites

Hopefully you aren't comparing rolled fenders to my FUBAR'd sheet metal! A simple roll only effects the inside lip of the fender, something virtually unnoticeable. As others have said, check out Jedi's rear fenders for what a proper fender roll will look like.

Keep in mind, when pulling/flaring, one really needs to have a body shop fill in the creases and repaint for a perfect result. I've needed to do this for quite some time but honestly, it is easy for me to just to put off any sort of body work (hence the stock body :().

Sorry for repeating something already said multiple times haha.

That is good to know, thanks. Just out of curiosity, what size are you running?

*Edit - Ooops, saw it in your sig. lol

J8635621 03-11-2011 02:43 PM

It means more when you say it.

9krpmrx8 03-11-2011 04:48 PM

Okay guys I realize there is little rhythm or reason to this but here you go.

Hesselrode 03-14-2011 08:32 AM

Size: 19x9.5
Offset: 45mm
Backspacing: 7.08"
Bolt Pattern: 5-114
all around
What size tires would you recommend putting on front and back with them? I am not lowered yet but do plan on going with some drop springs so around 1.5 inches.

Grog 03-14-2011 08:34 AM

Here's an easy one for you guys; putting my coilovers on next week and I want to go low before I space everything out just to see how it looks;

18x9 +31 all around
245/40 tires

Can I go as low as I want or what?

J8635621 03-14-2011 08:57 AM

Hesselrode - 275/30/19 or 265/30/19

Grog - With rolled fenders you should be able to go as low as you want.

Definitely, though my coilovers are going to be here sometime this week and I'm not scheduled to have my fenders rolled until mid April. Basically I just want to see how my car looks lowered before the wider spacers/fenders rolled but I don't know how low I would be able to go before rolling is necessary. Currently I am on Teins.

J8635621 03-14-2011 11:39 AM

Camber dependant and nearly impossible to give you an actual ride height. I'd be willing to bet you could go as low as you want.

Ross_Dawg 03-14-2011 12:24 PM

18x9 +29 rarely rubbed with 245/40 on Jantzens 8 on stock fenders

Would this be a good setup with 265 all around?
I would like to be able to keep rotating the wheels, but with a staggered setup I can't do that. What are the pros and cons to both staggered and unstaggered setup?
