WantedTwo 03-20-2011 05:38 AM

19x9.5 +24mm SA55m with 265/30/19 KDW2

Tanabe Pro 5 coilovers and RacingBrake BBK

Ross_Dawg 03-20-2011 11:36 AM

That will be a tight fit, what's the max camber you can live with?

RPM-Rush 03-20-2011 10:19 PM

Question~

Lowered on Tanabe gf20, Rims~ 9.5wide offset 30, tires 255.40.18.

When i go over, lets say a surface where my car goes up and then down. I rubb Like crazy but not on the fender because they are rolled but where the bumper starts. the point part, What can be a fix to this? I am going to take it back to me guy, who rolled it but what will fix this? Pull? or shave?

2Fast2Fiero 03-20-2011 11:05 PM

i just put my front rims on which are 19x8.5 with 32 offset. i will be putting the rears on when i pick my tires up tomorrow. the rears are 20x9.8 35offset. the front sit nearly pefectly flush with the fender and its on stock suspension.. pics will come as soon as i upload it

The tire profile is too large; you're rubbing on the corner lights? Have you trimmed the plastic in the wheelwell?

i'm rubbing in the back, And Ross Please dont tell me that the profile is too large:icon_bs: . I could swear everyone on rx8club told me 255/40/18 was the Optimal size! what size should i have gone with for my setup"? and yes i got my fenders rolled and the guy cut the plastic off, but i think its rubbing against the rear bumper corner where it meets the fender! i swear that sound scares the beegeeses outta me

J8635621 03-22-2011 06:46 AM

Lower offset + stock height tires + being lowered will rub in the front when you turn. Cutting the plastic off in the back is step 1 after rolling the fenders. That thing you rub on has to be filed down.

RX8inSTL 03-22-2011 08:43 AM

Ok guys I was thinking about this last night and I came up with this. Im just trying to get an idea of where these new wheels will be as far as flushness before I get them.

So would an 18x8.75 +20 be about the same as a 18x8 +11 as far as flushness goes?

J8635621 03-22-2011 09:24 AM

don't forget about the tire

RX8inSTL 03-22-2011 10:51 AM

I planned on running the stock tire size. I just dont want to be pushing the wheels out too far so I wanted to get an idea of where they will sit.
Right now im at 18x8 +25 so I was thinking if I went out 14mm further that would be the same as running a 18x8.75 +20. Is that correct?

The rear bumper corner is an easy fix, just spend an hour or 2 to cut away the plastic and grind away the screw housing. I meant the 40 profile with a 255 is too large if you don't want rubbing, you just have to do a few things to get them to fit without rubbing :)

Yeah, that's pretty close. If you're using stock tires they will fit fine, but have unnecessary stretch (if you're in to the whole stretch tire look).

RX8inSTL 03-22-2011 11:19 AM

Okay thanks again Ross Dawg, I may just end up selling my stock wheels with tires then cause I dont really wanna have them strecthed for no reason.
So I would think a 245-40 would be a good fit for an 8.75?

Ross_Dawg 03-22-2011 02:46 PM

perfect fit

Not Rubbing in the front rubbing in the back. so file down the bumper on the inner part?? where it screwed to the body? running 235/40 in the fr 255/40rear

J8635621 03-22-2011 11:41 PM

235/40 (and I assume you have 8.5s up front too) is why you don't have a problem in the front. I had a thing to fill out so we didn't have to assume anything but no one ever used it. Yea file that tab down to where the bolt is and you should be good to go. If the problem persists, you will have to do some more work to fix it.

RPM-Rush 03-23-2011 12:11 AM

^ 9.5's all around

J8635621 03-23-2011 12:24 AM

That's why assumptions are bad and I had that questionaire. Don't run 255/40 in the front, 245/40 or 265/35 are ok (265 is pushing it on width though).

tedo 03-23-2011 03:13 PM

Will this setup fit on a stock 05?

Enkei RP03 18x9 +40 w/ Toyo R1R 265/35-18

J8635621 03-23-2011 03:15 PM

Yea. Tires are overkill on the street
