So I got the imposable done. 285 30 r 18 on the stock rims. No rubbing, no cutting an no spacer; bolts right on. U ask y? The answer is cause people said it can't be done.looks sick so much meet for that lil 8.5 inch rim
|
Actually an 8 inch rim.
Reverse stretch FTW? |
No one said it was impossible. We said impractical.
|
so you guys say 18X8.5 +30 on 245/40/18 ! is very good on a kitted 8 with stock height and stock suspension ? Now i really was thinking bout 18X10 24+ on 255/35/18 all around and getting coilovers. What do you guys thing bout that ?
|
I think you asked that before and we answered. I wouldn't suggest it since you don't strike me as the guy willing to do the work necessary to make something like that fit.
|
I am looking at rims that are 19x9.5 f/r
the offsets offered are 0, +12, +22. What would be my best setup with rs*r springs to get a flush look? Tire size? |
+22 245/35 roll fenders and trim the bumper tab in the back.
|
thanks for the info. what is a common place to get the rolled fenders at and how expensive is it?
|
I found a good deal for wheels and tires locally.
http://montrealracing.com/forums/sho...0-17-brand-new 245/40/17 on Rota Torque 17x9 +30 Will this fit, do I need to roll fenders? Also I would prefer to use 245/45/17 tires. When I change tires in a year or two, will this size be a problem or not? Thanks for your help guys. |

my bad if my questions make it seem like im being lazy. I ask cause i have always gotten good answers from the forum but not everyone has the same opinion. I been shopping around for rims for over a month , but in new york every rims shop i been too wont test fit rims. they want to tell you wat you should sport. LOL.

Lower car first, then wheels. Best way to do it.

You have to say your suspension setup for me to tell you if it will look good. You won't need to roll fenders and the other size would be better and still not cause a problem.
|
Eh that's a little more aggressive than I'd recommend for stock suspension, ie it will be beyond the fenders. It won't rub though.

Hey guys, hoping to get a fairly quick response on this, since I'm kind of running out of time. I posted a few pages back that I was going to run 19" SSR D5R's, but I found a set of 18x9 Advan RS wheels, with a 29 offset that I may not be able to pass up. Only problem is I've seen conflicting info about fitment.
Member JantzenRX-8 has this same setup, and in the Advan thread says that he has no rubbing issues: https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...+advans&page=6 I'm not sure what he's lowered on though. And then on that same page, someone says that 18x9 +29 wheels will require a roll. I also read someone's post elsewhere that said it took a lot of work to make these fit. I will be running 245/40/18 Hankook Ventus V12 Evo tires. I'd just like to get a really good idea how much modification would be involved with these, before I make a fairly long drive to get them. I sent a PM to Jantzen, but he has not replied. Below is pic of how my car sits right now, to give a better idea. Thanks everyone. :) |
will bigger offsets wheels damage the wheel bearings because im getting a click sound on the driver sides ever time i take a turn or get a bump.
|
Olorin - You shouldn't need a roll, but it's sorta close so maybe expect to roll the fenders? It definitely won't take a "lot of work."
lower offset wheels put more stress on the bearings, but I don't think you should be having a problem because of that yet. I'd say to check your endlinks and make sure they are positioned correctly and tight. They can make a clunk type noise in those situations. |

Rota torque, 18x9.5 +35 255/45?
|
you're missing the suspension information....255/45 is too tall
|
See sig :). Prefer no rolling and minimal gap
edit: incase you are on mobile, stance GR+ mind you i have an S2 with current set up of stock 18" w 225/45 |

Saying you have coilovers is not helpful really. How low are you? 255/40 will work if you aren't really low.
|
My mistake. Posted from mobile so that's prolly why. Have a set of stance gr+ . I am flexable on finagling with the height as long as I have about 2 finger gap, aggressive if I can and no rolling please
