well if you look at the way our fenders are, they pretty much need to be rolled, if you wanna get a agressive tucked but wide at the same time look.

if you want something like that, you will need to do a good amount ofwork to the rx8, the right offset, (no spacers)

but if you want something a little more basic like this..

then you might wanna go with a 18x8.5 +35 18x9.5 or even 10 with +35 or even
+45 offset

eather way if you want somthing that looks like that,

your gonna have to roll your fenders, and most likely get a set of coilovers, cause correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure that all the lowering springs for our cars dont drop it much.

keep in mind that for an impressive offset, dont sure spacers! just get the right offset!

another thing that might help you if you want aggressive fitment is to check out zilvia.net and search wheel fitments!

it helps!

you're not going to get that look on the rx-8 with those specs.

bring it out another 15-20 mm up front and 10 mm in back and it'll look closer to that.

This thread is about fitting wheels, yes. If you look through any of the posts here you'll realized wheel fitment is all about offset. It is possible to go 9.5s all around with the right offset.

Will this fit:
20x9.0 +42 all around

If not, will this:
F: 20x8.5 +42
R: 20x9.0 +42

If so, what size tire can I run on the front and back (I'd like the widest possible), if different, without any problems with rubbing. I don't mind having to roll the fenders. I have height adjustable coil-overs if that helps.
Thx!

Will this fit?:
18x9 +30 all around (1st option)
18x9 +35 all around (2nd option)

I like the more agressive wider look, what are my tire size options without any rubbing issues on Tein S-techs? Also, without having to roll the fenders?

I'm running 18x9.5 +38 with 265/35 all around and no rubbing at all. And the car is dropped on coilovers.

So the second option should be fine with a 265/35 tire

Changed my mind about the 20's.

Will these fit, if so, what's the widest tire I can fit without rubbing/sticking out?

Would a 18x9.5 +38 fit with S-Tech and Koni Yellow? I know they will fit with S-Tech. My question is if I do Konis as well will I have to do any fender modification?

NOTE

i had 9.5 inch rears with a +35 offset and they dont fit, if by fit you mean the tyres are inside the arches. My tires (265) were well outside the arch....

The intial guide saying a +35 will be fine isnt right.

well 20 x 10 rears with 275 tyres will only fit with arch rolling I think.

Even 19 x9.5 will only fit with the exact right offset (which I think is a 45 ish offset number)

i have a wb 8 with tein s techs lowered and fender rolled and i am running blitz type 03's,
F: 18x9 + 41 offset
R: 18x10 +45 offset

wanting to switch to 19 inch TE37's
( wanting )
F:19x8.5 +29 offset
R:19x9.5 +36 offset

will it fit without rubbing issues with 4 people and a full tank of gas? i am also going to use 245's in front and 275's in rear, thanks guys, if not, what other offset should i run? i am trying to retain the same look i have now because my current stance fits flush with no rubbing whenever, so im hoping i can do the same with the new wheels thanks guys
cheers

What is the widest tire you can run on stock rims without rubbing?

I have 255 40 18 on there right now (all 4), with Tein S Techs and have no rubbing, I am just wondering if I could go to:

265 40 18
or
265 35 18

I would love to go to:

275 35 18
or
285 35 18

on the rear, but that is probably not happening without rolling fenders right?

Maybe 255 40 18 on front with 285 35 18 on rear that would be sweet. Oh and it is just for looks, I really like the wider tire look.

the offset matches that of an 8.5" 245 tire that rubs slightly.

note that the rubbing isn't on the fender, its on the wheel well and/or the rubber-coated frame.

255 on a 9.5" will have a slight stretch to it where as the 8.5" 245 doesn't, so that's an advantage. but a 255/35/19 is also a bigger diameter, which i believe will make it rub.

the enkei rpf1 guys run 18x9.5 +45 with a 275/35/18 without problems. but their diameter is smaller.
