It would be more helpful if you said offset, tire info, suspension setup, and what you had to do to fit them.

Definitely need rolled fenders and some fender liner work for sure.

ok im running FIVE:AD S5-F 19X8.5 30mm wrapped in Falken 452s 245/35/19
no scrubbing issues
about to drop with H techs (-1.0" ,-0.3") and Koni Yellows
what do you guys think will be needed?

blazenblue63 04-20-2011 09:34 AM

Here's my question. I just started to Autocross and want to improve my handling. Lighter wheels stickier tires and upgraded suspension. Tirerack says 17x9 enkei rpf1 with 265 star specs will fit stock. I don't plan on lowering the car much but I do want a custom alignment. So will they fit without fender rolling with a better suspension? What suspension should I look at? What are good alignment numbers? Thank you :) oh and sway bars?

The Reverend 04-20-2011 09:37 AM

i believe topgear has run 18x9 +35 with 265s and says he didnt need to roll

as for your other qs read around the racing forum there is already lots of info on alignment specs suspension etc.

Nothing... you may rub the rear fender on fast cornering or bumps but we'll see.

I would just get the rpf1's and rcomps for now, and go do a few runs. Then when you get used to that, add another suspension component. Just don't go out and buy everything you can; you'll never understand what each part does and why it helps. Even a car with aftermarket suspension work can handle worse than stock if the person doesn't know what they're doing.

Oh I plan to :) I'm more asking if the wheels will fit after I add suspension down the road. So I don't have to buy different ones after I add suspension

J8635621 04-20-2011 12:55 PM

17x9 +45 is what you should get in the rpf1

kenken3686 04-21-2011 11:59 AM

Hi Guys,

My new rims / tires are almost here...

I am dropped on Tanabe NF springs. Basically the fender is lined up with tires, nothing will go in.

Should I get my rear fenders rolled before hand?

F: 18 x 8.5 +38 - 245/40/18
R: 18 x 9.5 +38 - 275/35/18

Thanks

J8635621 04-21-2011 12:00 PM

Yea get the fenders rolled and you might need to trim the bumper tab a little bit. Do the fender roll now and see if it rubs on that tab after you put the wheels/tires on.

kenken3686 04-21-2011 12:37 PM

Thanks for the response.

What exactly is the bumper tab?

Sifu 04-21-2011 12:53 PM

^ if you run you fingers on the rear fender where the rear bumper connects...that is the rear bumper tab everyone trims/removes.

J8635621 04-21-2011 12:54 PM

Look under the rear fender where it meets the bumper. It sticks out and has black plastic over it.

Hey guys I'm ready to pull the trigger on ordering some rims and I just had a quick question. The company has 18x8 offset 35 in stock but should I wait a month for them to get the 18x8.5 offset 45 wheels in? I currently have OEM tires and won't be changing them for atleast another summer, maybe two.

I only drive my car as a daily driver so just wondered what you guys though.

I apologize foe not searching but I'm on my phone without a PC for a while.

J8635621 04-23-2011 09:52 PM

8.5 +45 imo but they are pretty close to the same

Ross_Dawg 04-23-2011 10:08 PM

Since you're just going to use the stock tires Id get the 8's... unless you feel like you can wait then Id get the 8.5's

felipeGTx 04-24-2011 12:37 PM

I was looking at some 19x8.5 in rims with 245/40 tires all around. I am installing the J-speed body kit which is pretty aggressive. I was looking for the same on my wheels with those numbers would it be kinda aggressive? BTW no mods to suspension so car is stock height. The offset on these are +35

HaydonGS 04-24-2011 03:51 PM

offset is everything
without the offset we can't say.
