^yeah had zero issues

how is it only equivalent to 9.5+22ish? .5 inch equals about 13mms wouldnt that make it plus 9.5+12?

edit: I forgot that I had to shave off part of the fender liner because when I had people in the back and hit a big bump/hard curve it would rub slightly

J8635621 05-03-2011 07:38 PM

You're doing it wrong. 1/2 inch wider but only half of that half inch goes towards the fender. Plus the tire is moved a little in relation to the wheel. So 25mm - 6mm (half of 13) + a little for less stretch = about 22mm offset. I cut off that fender liner + took a file to that hard plastic tab.

mscamp02 05-03-2011 07:43 PM

^I new I should ask here before ordering anything. Just by eyeballing it looks like theres a shit ton of space, may go with just 10mm spacers then. Ill take a pic with my cell and post up in a few. 9.5+20 shouldnt be a problem

J8635621 05-03-2011 07:46 PM

You might have skinnier tires or different alignment or a bunch of other things making it different. Anyone by you have spacers you can try? Maybe buy a couple 5mm spacers off ebay for $5 to make a temporary (not driven on) 10mm spacer to see?

I may have exaggerated when I said a shit ton of space.
those two fingers are pretty tight in there and I had to use my pinky to get two. lol yeah 15-20 would be a bit to much.

Just put in eibach on my oem shocks drop .08 rear and 1.250 front and also put in new rims 19", do i need alighment or camber adjustment. What do i do after this...any info greatly appeciated
245/35/19 front 8.5x19+40
275/35/19 reat 9.5x19+40

J8635621 05-04-2011 01:11 AM

you need alignment after changing up the suspension. If it rubs, roll the rear fenders.

MAZSPDRX8 05-04-2011 01:34 AM

Whats a good place for an alighment, I was thinking taking it to Mazda dealer.

245/40s and the fender mods I told you should allow you to go low as you could ever want. I have that setup pretty much.

Would 245/35 be too thin? I'll go with 245/40 anyways, but I was just curious. Thanks for all the help. :Peace:

Hey there, so im a newbie when it comes to rims and tire fitment so im here to ask for some help.

At the momemt im at stock height but will be buying stance coils in 6-9 months (student im poor)

I was looking at the xxr 521

F18x8.5 +25 1.75" lip
R18x10 +25 3.25" lip?
What do you think on looks and is there a tire setup u can use to avoid rolling my fenders or any other large amounts of work?

Thanks
Heney

I'm having a hard time finding the answer to this and I know I asked it already, my fronts are 19x8.5 +36, what size spacer would be recommended to push those out a tad more? The rears are 19x9.5 +29 and sit right where I want them, would like to match that a bit better in the front. Thanks in advance :)

Vlaze 05-04-2011 12:53 PM

What is the camber you're running? That'll make a difference as well. Tire size? You looking for a dead on flush look or what?

hellaflushfatlace 05-04-2011 10:26 PM

just need to know if this is going to work cause i already bought these wheels.

currently running koni shocks on tein springs

the wheels are work vs-xx
Front 18*9.5 +19
Rear 18*10.5 +31

dont have any tires yet wondering what would work the best and if i would need to get coilovers to make these wheel work!

I'd say right now I've got quite a bit of camber in the front actually, that'll probably change after I get it aligned though. I'm running a 235/35 19 on a 19x8.5 (+36) in the front, I've attached a pic to give an idea, I should probably just wait until after it's aligned and all before really trying to figure out something but I figured I'd throw it out there anyway, just want the front and back to match better.

Any alignment shop will do, if you want to pay a little cheaper than the dealerships charge.

15ish mm spacer imo

Agreed, to be dead on almost you'd go with a 20 but I think the front fenders on our cars stick out slightly less than the rear with the same offset all around so I'd try a 15 to start to aim for a flush look.

canaryrx8 05-05-2011 01:00 PM

cool, appreciate the feedback. I was thinking of going with some aluminum eibach spacers, is there a preferred brand out there at all or are they all pretty much the same?

J8635621 05-05-2011 01:08 PM

Project kics for me. Get the ones with built in studs. Evo forums are good to search for used ones.

Takumix 05-06-2011 12:43 PM

would a 215/40/18 Front and 215/55/18 Rear work well on an 8?

first post here. go easy plz lol

Vlaze 05-06-2011 12:49 PM

Um, yes it would work, question is why? You want to go with a narrower tire and smaller than stock tire in both width and circumference on the front then go with a yet again narrower but larger than stock circumference on the rear?

It will look like a drag car on pancakes..unless you plan on stretching the hell out of those tires on a wide rim.

I have had H&R and Eibach hubcentric spacers with the built in studs and teh quality of both was very good. Right now I am running Ichiba with longer studs in the front and project kics with built in studs in teh rear. Just keep in mind that your wheel need a little space between the hole to accommodate the stock stud that will stick through. The thinner the spacer the more that will stick through.

Some wheels have a ton of space to accommodate this and some do not (like my Miro's).

Eibachs.

I just had my wheels off 2 weeks ago, should have remembered to make a note of it as I'd been thinking about spacers for a while now. Thanks for the info!

J8635621 05-07-2011 04:16 PM

Almost positive Works will be fine. Euro cars that usually run wheels like 9ks have wheel bolts instead of lugnuts I believe. That could be his reason.

Ross_Dawg 05-07-2011 04:21 PM

Yeah 15mm would look good in front, 5mm in back if you dare :D:
