That low of an offset is at the point where it's what you make fit, not what actually fits. You need to be very low for that low of an offset.

i never understand why lowering the car more will make the rims fit easier. Sure it will make it look better but "easier" ??? Lower offset = rims stick out more. I know camber does help make lower offset wheels fit but never understand why lower cars are able to fit lower offset wheels. Wouldnt it be easier to fit them if the car was higher so the tire doesnt hit the fender.

Both will fit. 245s are a little skinny on a 9.5" wheel, so I'd suggest a 265/35. It will probably be a little outside the fender at stock height and be a tiny bit sunken with the s-techs/konis.

245 x 40 18x8.5 20 for offset i believe. for the rear tires, also lowered on tien s-techs. <-- that one be ok?

i know 255x 45 rubbed really well.

You definitely need a fender roll in the back and maybe trim up that bumper tab a little bit. edit: Do you have 18x8.5 +20 all around? Why not go 245/40 all around? 225/45 is pretty tall for the front on a lowered car with lower offset wheels so it would kinda be precautionary to keep it from rubbing as well.

If the wheel was attached to a linear plane, then you would be right and lowering the car would make no difference in wheel fitment. However, the wheel isn't; it's attached to a pivoting A arm. So when you hit a bump in the road, your wheel does not go up, but pivots and brings the wheel up into the arches at an angle. So when you lower your car, you're bringing more of the wheel into the fender (at an angle) thereby creating more room for wider wheels.

So lowering it = same as hitting a permanent bump kind of. It was Rotary-RX8's question in the first place. Lower doesn't make it easier to put the wheel on without rubbing (sorta). It makes it easier to not look like ****.

Well tires up front are fairly new 225/45/18. The tires in rear need replacing soon, and just wanted to go a little wider.
And yes 18x8.5 +20 all around. Have ran 225/45/18 for past 3 years.

245/40/18 i believe is same diameter rotation as the 225/45 series.

You did not have a question in your last post for me to reply to, so I didn't reply. I told you what to do for 245s (roll fenders and probably trim the bumper tab) or you can get 235s obviously (shorter than your front tires by a little bit though).

ok im about to buy tires in a few mins, and which is better nitto nt 850's at 713, or some nt 555 at 670. stealership says they 850s are better, however the nt 555 (what i have on now) will have to be ordered in.
