Good point. Im so used to people asking if "it will fit" as in will it clear the fenders. Totally forgot about caliper clearance lol.

devtec 07-21-2011 11:35 PM

Thanks for the responses guys...

Rotary-RX8 07-24-2011 08:07 PM

Sorry for this. I think J might pull his hair out but which one will be easier to fit.

18x10 +20

or

18x10.5 +22

Which one will look better.

J8635621 07-24-2011 08:23 PM

I think you can figure out which is easier to fit and you should know I don't say which will look better. Both will look like shit TO ME. I hate poke

Rotary-RX8 07-24-2011 09:12 PM

Poke isnt what im going for !!! Im going for FLUSH. Good thing i ask lol.

I dont get why other rx8s who have similar specs are flush though. I know they are super low and run camber. I dont mind going low and run a bit of camber to make it look good.

Here's an example for you I'm running 18x9.5 +30 and I'm pretty much flush all the way around, at one point I had 10mm spacers in the rear so the rears were essentially +20 and running -4 degrees of camber. Without the camber they poked out a LOT! So I got rid of the spacers, not to mention the fact that negative camber destroys tires, so unless you can afford to buy tires every few thousand miles I would avoid too much negative camber.

Rotary-RX8 07-24-2011 09:54 PM

^ ill keep that in mind thanks :)

I just cant pick a freaking width and offset. Its so frustrating cause i want it to fit and look good. And the wheels i want are not cheap so i dont want to fuck this up and have it look like shit.

Other option is 18x9.5 +22. Just worried the 9.5 wont look as concave as the 10. I want the most concave face which the 10.5 and 10s have. FML!!!

Options are:

1) 18x10 +20

2) 18x10.5 +22

3) 18x9.5 +22

Ill be on coilovers so ill be low enough. I dont mind rolling the fenders (NO PULLING). I dont mind stretched tires a bit. Smallest tires i want to run is 255s.

That all depends on the wheels, what wheels are you looking to buy? I would ask one of the vendors around here they should be able to tell you if the concave changes between the sizes you're looking at.

Rotary-RX8 07-24-2011 10:19 PM

^ i asked and he said it does change. I really want to go with the 10s cause they have the most concaveness but the offsets they come in are pretty poke which i dont want.

FUCK MY LIFE LOL

As for which wheels .. youll have to wait till i get them ;)

I came across this info this past weekend. Might be useful to someone, I know some of it was useful for me lol. It's just tire basics like what the letters stand for on the tire, air pressure, a diagram of different ways to rotate your tires, etc. Hope it helps someone.

Have a flat and need to move the car from off of a flat bed trailer. Borrowing a friends spare to do this; will 16" rim clear the rear caliper on an 04 GT?..... also has 225/55/16 tire but I don't think that will be a problem

No, it won't.

jDt! 07-26-2011 12:18 PM

I've been looking, but I can't find a clear answer so here it is

All I want to know is how wide can I make the front tires on 18 inch rims How wide and what offset when made flush with the fenders even if spacers are needed. The actual tire profile can be lowered too if needed to prevent rubing.

Rotary-RX8 07-27-2011 12:32 PM

Ive asked this before but im not getting a solid answer. Looking to put 18x10.5 +22 all around.

I dont mind rolling fenders and running a bit of camber. Will these fit ?? Whats the widest tires ill be able to run ??

I can also get 18x9.5 +22 but it probably wont be as concave as the 10 and 10.5. SHould i go 9.5 or go all out with 10 or 10.5.

Sorry but im ordering soon and i dont want to fuck it up and have them not fit.

truejee 07-30-2011 11:40 AM

18X9 +30 rota g-force with 245/45/18 g-force tires dropped on tein stechs (stechs will be installed soon)

J8635621 07-30-2011 12:33 PM

16s should fit on the rear. They won't fit the front.

Jdt that's not a good question. There are too many other variables to answer that.

Rotary that will stick out beyond the fenders. 9.5 +22 is outside the fenders for me by a little bit too but close.

NewKid 07-31-2011 10:17 AM

Ok will this fit?
Tires:
F 235/35/R19
R: 255/35/R19
Rims:
F: 19x8.5 +20 offset
R: 19x9.5 +20 offset
I also want to run with Tein S. tech lowering springs...

J8635621 07-31-2011 10:52 AM

Wouldn't look good but it could be made to fit without rubbing. You'd need to be lower for it to sit right.

What do you mean it wouldn't look good?

NewKid 07-31-2011 11:16 AM

My original plan was to keep the same tires but have a set of konig afterburners that are offset +40, but i dont have the money for them:(

J8635621 07-31-2011 11:20 AM

They will be outside the fender. If you can't afford te konigs I'm scared to hear what you can afford.

NewKid 07-31-2011 11:25 AM

Well ok all i needed to know is if they stuck out, but now that I know this I won't be runnig this set up. I will be able to afford the konigs soon, but not as soon for a different set. I was looking at a set of graphite Drag wheels. Would the +40 offsets fit under the fenders?

J8635621 07-31-2011 11:28 AM

Same widths? You could do 9.5 +40 all around with 245s or like the last set you asked. They should work fine.

NewKid 07-31-2011 11:33 AM

Yeah same widths, I wanna do 8 or 8.5 in the front to give it a staggered look with the wheels. Thank you very much for the help!:worship:

bschnard 08-01-2011 10:07 AM

Wanting to put 265/35/17 tires on the car all around. That would dictate I need at least a 9 inch rim. What wheels and offsets would you suggest. Only mod to the suspension at this time is Koni shocks. Might be looking for coilovers later but not right now. Saw an 8 this past weekend with Enkei's and the 265's but didn't get a chance to chat with the driver.
