comfort

Jarrizar 08-10-2011 10:18 PM

If wanted comfort I would have got a different car. This is all about styling.

Atilla 08-10-2011 10:46 PM

do you plan on lowering the car? or are you going to leave it stock height? Please tell me you're gonna try n' lower it n' not make it look like you're gonna be doing a dunk style.

Do you also have any other exterior modifications? like appearance package or bodykit...

btw...dubs on an american car...ok...dubs on a euro car...sometimes ok...dubs on a japanese car...almost NEVER ok...

Jarrizar 08-10-2011 11:04 PM

No I don't plan to lower it, I have the Duraflex Raven body kit.

Atilla 08-10-2011 11:09 PM

sweet

post pics when you've got it fitted.

Jarrizar 08-10-2011 11:10 PM

It will be a few weeks yet but I will definitely post it.

Rotary-RX8 08-11-2011 11:48 AM

Hey guys....I've got a few tire & wheel options in mind and would love to see what you guys think. First off,I'm rolling on 09 R3 bilsten shocks & springs (so stock height), but I might plan on lowering the car by no more than 1.5" in the future. Second, I had my rear fenders rolled awhile ago, and I'm not a fan of running negative camber so that would not be an option for me in order to get a set of wheels to work....I would rather go with a different set instead of adjusting camber.

Options:

1) 19X8.5 +40 all around
I'm thinking 255/35/19 for tires and 10mm spacers ??

2) 19x8.5 F +17
19x10 R +22
For tires I'm thinking 235/35 F and either 255/35/19 or 265/30/19 Rear ? But both the 255s and 265s will probably be too much of a stretched look for me on the 19x10s so I might not go with this set...

3) 19x8.5 F +20
19x9.5 R +20
235/35/19 F and 265/35/19 R.

4) 19x8 F +35
19x9 R +35
235/35/19 F and 265/35/19

Once again, I'm looking for the best option that will give me a nice flushed look, with no stretched tires, and no need to run negative camber. I'm fine with just my rear fenders rolled, and don't want to perform any other fender mods at this time.

I'd greatly appreciate any comments and advise. Thanks for taking the time to read my post!!

1. Fine except 245/35 as 255s can possibly rub due to being tall.

2. Nope

3. Nope

4. 9 +35 all around with 245/35

edit: Your other set doesn't look good anymore?

Thanks for the quick response. Hmmmm... as far as #1 goes...I figured that 245/35 or 255/35/19s would work because the front rims I took off my car yesterday were 20x8.5 +38 with 245/35/20 tires and I wasn't experiencing any rubbing?

As far as #3 goes...an employee from Sonic tuning told me that with the +20 offset, 235/35/19 F with 265/30/19 R should work fine with my car, since my rear fenders are rolled and I wasn't experiencing any issues with my current 20" staggered wheels. I don't know if I should take the risk though

#4 are a staggered set of 19" wheels so unfortunately I cant 19x9s :/

J8635621 08-13-2011 08:42 PM

I have no idea who sonic tuning is but they are wrong I guarantee. I have 9.5+23 with 245s and needed the rear fender tab completely removed.

255s would be fine on 1 widthwise but they are tall and that + low offset = rubbing on the fender liner.

I had no idea who sonic tuning was either until a friend of mine showed me their website 2 days ago lol. http://www.sonictuning.com/

I wouldn't mind removing the rear fender tabs for 265/30/19s. You think I would need to do more work tho?

J8635621 08-13-2011 09:21 PM

Yea for sure

J8635621 08-13-2011 09:22 PM

Yea for sure. The other problem is stock height will look like SHIT with stuff that aggressive.

Yea i know. Thing that has kept me from lowering my 8 is the fact that we have had pretty crazy snow storms here in NY in the past, and right now my 8 is my daily driver. It would suck to scrape and bang up my bumpers all over ice n shit. But i mean comeon...it should still look alot better than the really sunk in look you get with the stock 18x8s + 50 lol

gettin sideways 08-17-2011 09:23 AM

im looking at getting 19x9.5 +12 (front) and 19x10.5 +12 (rear) i want a very aggressive look what size tires do i need and what problems am i going to run into

J8635621 08-17-2011 09:46 AM

lol

Kereshen 08-18-2011 11:42 AM

Which one would look better all round?

18x9.5 + 30 offset on tire would be +35
18x9.5 + 38 offset on tire would be +40

Believe tires are 245

Thanks

J8635621 08-18-2011 12:27 PM

Suspension? Tires don't have offset and they would be 245/40 for both lol

Kereshen 08-18-2011 02:43 PM

lol my head isnt working today. I meant...

which would look better and which tire?

18x9.5+30 Tire choices are 245/40 and 245/35
18x9.5+38 Tire choices are 245/40 and 245/35

I was thinking 18x9.5 with 245/40 would look sick, but would the 245/35 look better with the tire? i dont want any rubbing and would like to avoid camber if possible. I want it to look as flush as possible and the car has not been lowered.

Thanks.

J8635621 08-18-2011 03:53 PM

None of them. Lower the car first

alex zhuk 08-18-2011 05:34 PM

I got a great deal on some 18x9.5 ETA 45 BBS RGRs today with tires, the tires were 285/40/18 so those dont work....

what would be the best tire size to go with on the wheel? I am going to roll the fenders so i would like to get a 40 on there rather than a 35. any ideas? also dont like the super stretched look either.

i have s-tech springs at the moment and will be getting some shocks soon, konies, or biliastiens

Kereshen 08-18-2011 05:45 PM

Car has Mazdaspeed kit and is already 1inch from the ground, if i lower it anymore, ill be grinding. I am asking for your opinion on how the wheels would look...thats it.
