I'm telling you it will not look good (you aren't an inch from the ground with stock suspension lol)....that's it. Stretched tires and 4x4 suspension looks FUCKING STUPID. Get 9.5 +45 with 275/35

Alex 275/35 is the common tire size run on that particular setup.

alex zhuk 08-18-2011 07:47 PM

thats prolly what im going to go with.

would a 265/40/18 work maybe? i was just thinking that that 40s would be a better better since i had 235/35/19s on a 19/8 eta 40 and it looks to skinny for me

J8635621 08-18-2011 07:55 PM

35 isn't a size it's a percentage of the width. 275/35/18 is bigger sidewall and outer diameter than 235/35/19

alex zhuk 08-18-2011 08:41 PM

sounds good. thanks

thinking a mild fender roll?

J8635621 08-18-2011 08:57 PM

If I didn't say it needed a fender roll in the beginning, you won't need a fender roll.

alex zhuk 08-18-2011 09:27 PM

well, i did state in my first post that i would like to get 40s on there and i would like to fender roll to get the fattest tire i could on it since i really liked the look when i test fitted the rims with the 285/40/18 but it looked like those wouldnt fit even with a fender roll.

SOOO, what could i then if fact go with a 275/40/18 or the 265/40/18 if i roll in my fenders to get SUPERFLUSH or would the extra tire cause the speedometer to be off and reduce performance?

Thanks champ.

I don't suggest doing things that make no sense. I don't suggest doing either of those as they are taller than stock and don't make it more flush in any sense. Keep it up slugger

PS: did you skip the part where I said you don't know what the 40 really means?

alex zhuk 08-18-2011 09:40 PM

right on. i suppose not flush but as bulky looking as possible.

275/35/18 makes seance tho.

thanks for the help.

18x9.5 30mm offset will it fit?

J8635621 08-20-2011 09:09 PM

Possibly but you don't have enough info for a good answer. Tire size, suspension, and are you going for flush, poke or something else entirely.

Dsposato 08-23-2011 06:11 PM

I have a 2004 rx8 i have not changed the suspension or anything like that. just looking to change the wheels.

ROTA Wheel P45F 18x8 (5x100+48mm, 56.1 Hub) will this work and what kinda tires would i need? thanks.

Atilla 08-23-2011 06:13 PM

i wouldn't be concerned about the tires considering you don't even have the right lug pattern...

ours are 5x114.3 not 5x100. Thats for a scion or something...

Atilla 08-23-2011 06:16 PM

btw, you're pretty much asking if stock specs will fit on your stock car...i don't see how this could have formed a question...

I am looking ahead here for winter wheels and tires, so I have some questions.

I am pretty much just looking at used OEM wheels on craigslist. I found some G35 sedan wheels off a 2003. They are 17x7, and my research leads me to believe they are +45.

Will these work/fit with 215/55R17's for winter?

And on that note, can you give me a range of offsets that will work for the rx8 for 17x7 to 17x8? Thanks!

J8635621 08-24-2011 08:50 PM

Yea those should work fine. Worst case on those sizes in an OEM offset is you will need a small spacer to get more brake clearance.

devtec 08-27-2011 04:23 PM

Thinking of getting the OZ Alleggerita 18" rim with Hankook K110 combo.

These rims come in 18 x 8 with a 48mm offset, so I'm sure I could use the popular combo of this with a 245/40R18 tire. It also comes in an offset of 35mm, which would probably fit and look better, right?

I kind of wanted to go with a 255/40R18 tire though, but this would probably be a bit much for an 8" wide rim. Worth it to go up to 255? Daily driver with possibility of some tracking. 255 would also be a spot on circumference match with the stock tire size.

Next size up in the Alleggeritas is an 18 x 8.5, but with offsets of 30 and 55. Would either of these work with a 255 tire? 55 might rub on the inside, but 30 might rub on the outside.

Would appreciate any advice, thanks!

Again, possible combos are:

18 x 8, 48 offset with 245/40R18 --> standard combo, works for sure
18 x 8, 35 offset with 245/40R18 --> ???
18 x 8.5, 30 offset with 255/40R18 --> ???
18 x 8.5, 55 offset with 255/40R18 --> ???

J8635621 08-27-2011 05:47 PM

255/40 is not recommended of you are gonna track the car or lower it anyways. 18x8.5 +30 with 245/40 or the 8+35

Hello everyone,

SPECS: "2004 RX8 (performance package) on Eibach Springs 1.2-inch Drop in the front and rear"
USED AS: Daily Driver

Will 18"x9.5 +20 all around fit? Will i need my fenders rollled? and what size tire will be good
((as flush as possible)) for the winter with this set up?

Thank you in advance.

nSlave 08-31-2011 05:57 AM

Can someone confirm if my calculations are right.
I've been calculating offsets. Would this be how much more in MM the wheels would stick out towards the fender from the stockies?

18x8.5 +35 - 21.25mm
18x8.5 +30 - 26.25
18x8.5 +25 - 31.25mm

18x9 +35 - 27.5mm
18x9 +30 - 32.5mm

18x9.5 +35 - 33.75mm
18x9.5 +30 - 38.75mm

Looking to go flush as possible, with no fender work, no camber, no shaving.
Lowered - Tein S-Tech (F:1.4", R:0.7")
Wheels - F: 18x8.5 +25 (235/40) , R: 18x9.5 +35 (245/40)

I've heard of a few people running 18x8.5+35/18x9.5+35 but front isn't flush, so I want to drop that front offset a bit more to +25 if I can without and scrubbing. I'd even drop the rear to +30 if that's possible too

J8635621 08-31-2011 07:08 AM

Vanguard - no. Pretty sure you don't want huge winter wheels.

Nslave you could do 9.5+30 all around with 245/40 and maybe roll the fenders. You can't really be flush without fender work.

hocknscary87 08-31-2011 01:36 PM

okay so i want a set of p45r's. would an 18x9.5 +20 be a difficult fit, or what would i be better off getting

J8635621 08-31-2011 01:38 PM

Need more info

slvrstreak 09-01-2011 10:49 AM
