Vanguard - no. Pretty sure you don't want huge winter wheels.

Nslave you could do 9.5+30 all around with 245/40 and maybe roll the fenders. You can't really be flush without fender work.

Hey Thanks for the advise J8635621. Keeping stock wheels for the winter on "Dunlop Winter Sport M3" and i just want to know will 18" X 9.5 +12 fit? I know i have to roll my fenders but will this type of set up require me to do anything else?

I am going for this look:

This 8 is on 18x9.5 +15.

Thank you.

Way more involved and you'd have to be super low to look good.

Not recommended and you have to put offset!

paparn 09-03-2011 08:42 AM

Rims: volk ce28n or te37 18x9.5 +22
Tires: 235/40/18 all around
suspention:Tein coilovers edfc

J8635621 09-03-2011 08:51 AM

245/40 and roll fenders + remove rear bumper tabs + lower till no gap between tire and fender.

kondypl 09-04-2011 04:05 PM

Any responds to my post?

Yea it's there if you care to read it.

Rota torque 18x9,5 et35 with 255/40 tires all around. Lowered on Tein Stech springs. Is it 100% certain I will need a fender roll in the rear? Will it look good?

ElSuaveChino 09-06-2011 07:42 AM

18x8.5 +35mm

Front: 1.75
Rear: 1.5

Recommended tires? Other?

Rx8north-I needed a roll + remove some of the bumper tab on a similar setup. Others have done 265s on that setup and sworn it fit with no work. Best to assume my situation and be happy if it's less work. It will look good. I don't recommend 255/40 because it is tall and with lower offset wheels and being lowered it may rub the fender liner up front. It takes a good bit of work to fix that if it happens. Not positive it would happen to you though.

Elsuavechino-245/40 and then some 10mm spacers and a fender roll + maybe remove the rear bumper tab. Should look really good.

Olorin2-his name is angrybumblebee I think. Just ask him as I don't remember which eyelids they are.

Well, now I believe that angrybumblebee got these from RaceRoots, which still sells them. As far as replicas go, they are really nice-looking and fit well.

slvrstreak 09-06-2011 11:15 AM

be sure to paint the backs when you paint them or the light will shine through

That's what I've heard, and thanks guys for the advice.

Darkness8 09-06-2011 01:38 PM

now that you mention it. i think idid get them from race roots. I bought a ton of parts at the same time and could never remember where i got them from.

okay so i want a set of p45r's. would an 18x9.5 +20 be a difficult fit, or what would i be better off getting

well i've never really tried to fit wheels to a vehicle to make it look more aggressive, and i've also never lowered one. I just ordered a set of megan racing coilovers since they were on sale and i have 1300 left for wheels. what would be a good offset to go with that will look more aggressive, yet not really compromise handling and i won't have to cut too much apart to make them fit. and recommendations on tires would be pretty sweet too. you guys definitely know your stuff so i figured i'd ask.

mizx 09-09-2011 07:18 AM

I don't yet have the car, I'm still waiting for the right one to turn up, I need an auto for medical reasons and they're rare in the UK, so just looking into my options.

Looking at 45mm front drop and 40mm rear, but I'm not sure if I should go with something like this;

or go wider, would 245/40s on 18x9" +18 RP03s look good and fit nicely?

J8635621 09-09-2011 08:16 AM

hocknscary - it depends on how much you lower it. 9.5 +20 will require some permanent modifications to the fenders so I'd say that's too aggressive for a newb. It's not hard stuff to do though. Look more at +30-40

mizx - if you are low enough and do the work, that is entirely possible. It isn't a matter of just throwing the wheels on there and driving away though. I went for the 9.5s personally but there are some 10s that have a little more concavity but would be a bit harder to fit without stretching tires.

livelycorpse 09-10-2011 04:44 PM

I have an 05 RX8 gt with stock brakes and suspension, will a set of winter 225/55/17's fit on the Mazda 3 gt 17" rims? I have a good deal for rims and tires separately and as such am curious.

J8635621 09-10-2011 05:32 PM

I don't know any of that winter stuff. I do know those are taller than stock and I don't like recommending that regardless of setup. Wheels and tire width are fine obviously.

livelycorpse 09-10-2011 06:18 PM

Is that height difference an issue for anything other than the speedometer?

J8635621 09-10-2011 06:25 PM

Yea but it's not usually an issue for stock height people with stockish offset wheels. I'd just hate to say it's gonna be fine and then not be. I have no recollection of how much space there was. It would rub behind the front tire on the plastic (metal behind it is the important part). You SHOULD be fine though.
