For a track, 275s are overkill unless you are boosted. Autox people run 9.5+45 with 275s all the time.

NOT asking if it will look good but im asking if it will rub in the front when the steering wheel is turned all the way one way ??

Once again not asking whether if it will look good cause this set up is just to fool around... ill remove it depending on how it looks.

Thanks

they're going to poke out a lot at stock height.

J8635621 09-19-2011 01:38 PM

He didn't ask for that. He knows they will stick out an inch.

Rotary-RX8 09-19-2011 01:52 PM

Just finished installing. The wheels are 18x8 +30 with 25mm spacers. Rear looks really good but the front is pretty poke as i expected. I might remove the spacers in the front.

Question for you guys. I am rubbing in the wheel well when i turn in the front. Can i just leave it and after a while the tire will just shave off a bit of the wheel well ??? Have you guys had that problem ?

Thanks

J8635621 09-19-2011 01:56 PM

Yea that's what we were talking about. If it's only barely rubbing that plastic it's no big deal but behind that plastic is unforgiving metal. No way 8+5 looks good. No possible way

Atilla 09-19-2011 01:58 PM

True but if it pokes out that much, i don't think he'd have to worry about rubbing much on the inside fender wells...i'd almost be concerned about him rubbing on the actual fender.

https://farm4.static.flickr.com/3444...8844a5cf97.jpg yay! mexi-flush!

edit: pics plzz - imagination is wondering

Rotary-RX8 09-19-2011 01:59 PM

^ To be honest it looks like shit in the front but the rear looks good.

I turned my wheel all the way one way and it looks like its just skimming the wheel well. I hope i should be okay rolling on these for one day. Cause im putting my stock wheels back on tomorrow. This was just to see what it would look like. lol

J8635621 09-19-2011 02:09 PM

Or the obvious answer would be take the spacers off

Rotary-RX8 09-19-2011 02:14 PM

yea or that lol.

I have to go to work right now and im scared shitless the tire will shave off the wheel well and be exposed to metal. Thanks for scaring the shit out of me J lol.

Rotary-RX8 09-20-2011 11:51 AM

put stocks back on. I was also rubbing in the rear. Not sure where but when i go over a bump. Probably the fender.

Checked for damage and none !!! :)

What about:
Tein Basics (1.5" drop all around)

O.Z. Alleggerita HLT
with 18x8 +48mm?

will that match the edge of the fenders front and back?

RX8Soldier 09-20-2011 02:28 PM

no. that's basically oem size

really? then how does 18x9 +45 fit with 255/40 nicely?

mike[piston eater] 09-20-2011 05:30 PM

people need to understand the basic math of offsets to width.

I may have misunderstood your question. Are you asking if they will be flush??

maybe, but yes i was. But if you are correct the how does an inch and 3mm make THAT much of a difference....thought it was the offset of the bolt pattern to the edge or the rim and the width of the outside rim is the total?

J8635621 09-20-2011 07:21 PM

The bolt pattern isn't offset lol. The rest of that....is it even English? edit: You seem to sorta maybe kinda know what offset means, so I hope you realize inches are big deals in a game of millimeters.

813dannykoofey 09-20-2011 10:28 PM

okay, i want these xxr 526's really bad!

SPECS: front=18x9.0 offset +25
rear=18x10.5 offset +20

---WITH 225/45/18 tires. im not lowered right now. How much will it poke out in front and rear? Will this even fit? thanks

J8635621 09-20-2011 10:47 PM

Stock height = never gonna work
Those rear specs are way more aggressive than the fronts and wouldn't work without serious mods. The fronts could work all around if you lowered your car on a good bit (more than s-techs) and ran 245/40s.

DAMMIT hooker i ment the area where the bolts are! and yes i do speak engrish rike a ross!

**Does the offset refer to the concaveness**
**Does the offset refer to the amount of mm that the center hub is "offset" from the center of th....i dont even care anymore. I tried to put it in words but fuck it! Ill but my MR116s

J8635621 09-20-2011 11:53 PM

Concavity is most likely related to width. Some custom wheels have different concavity at different offsets too I believe but you wouldn't be asking here if that were the case.

bcsoswat07 09-21-2011 06:48 AM

Fitment noobie <--

I'm looking at some Wedssport SA60M's 18x10 +35 with 295/30/18's all around.
Sitting on Tokico D-Specs and Mazdaspeed springs (Will move to KW V3's later, which I know would be the ideal set up).

Roll Rear AND Front, check, but will it fit?!!??
Thanks :)

J8635621 09-21-2011 07:39 AM

Tires too wide. 275/35 is as wide as you could go and you would need to be lowered about 2" all around and shave the rear bumper tabs off.

tiltmode43 09-22-2011 04:28 PM

Did we ever determine the highest offset + widest width wheels that have been run on the rx8? i.e. the wheels with the least inner clearance?

I recall discussing it before and bringing up the 10.5 ET43's that TeamRX8 ran, then sold, but has there been anything else with confirmed less inner clearance?

J8635621 09-22-2011 04:45 PM

That's the most(haha) aggressive I'm aware of
