Because the ones I want only come in that width :icon_no2:

What wheels are you looking at?

dschreiner 09-28-2008 07:16 PM

hey im lookin to see if some 18 x 9.5 +15 on all fours will fit. tires are 275/35/18. and do you know if i will have to calibrate my speedo because of the overall wheel+tire diameter

thx

i think you will struggle to fit that on stock fenders, but definitely doable without rubbing. Just be creative :)

so I got my rims in today and the invoice is different from what I asked for.

I asked for 18x8 and 18x9, both with +40 (as per recommendation in this thread). The invoice reads: 18x8 +33 and 18x9 +27.... does that work?

I don't know about price, but they'll fit fine and BBS are generally pricy.

r0tor 10-01-2008 12:29 PM

18x9 +30 offset on all 4 corners.... yes or no?

Yes, you'll need to roll

vtfanatic69 10-01-2008 07:19 PM

anyone know if 18x8's all around can fit the 225/45 stock size tires? wheels have a +45 offset btw

NgoRX8 10-01-2008 07:28 PM

yes stock is 18x8 +50 225/45/18. your wheels will be 5 mm out more than stock.

alright thanks, one more question. If I were to go with an 8.5" width wheel, would it be reccomended to change my tire size?

NgoRX8 10-01-2008 07:45 PM

it's not entirely necessary, but yes, that's typically what is done. unless you are going for something specific.

Oh ok, no I was just wondering if my tires would fit a different wheel. They only have about 700 miles on them so I don't feel like getting new ones yet

Your tires can fit any wheels, can always stretch em.

khronus79 10-02-2008 11:00 PM

no modifications??? what's the widest tire I can go with??

imput1234 10-02-2008 11:03 PM

How low are you?

khronus79 10-02-2008 11:26 PM

koni yellows n tein Hs, don't know exactly

imput1234 10-03-2008 09:09 AM

you should be fine with a roll. I think the most common tire size on 17's are 255. you should be able to run 275 but thats a more rare tire size in 17's.

NgoRX8 10-03-2008 10:31 AM

a 255 may work nicely since you are increasing the sidewall length, but yea a 275 will work as well.

khronus79 10-04-2008 03:18 PM

Will 285/40/17 fit???? I know some autoxers use 285/??/18, but don't know if they rub, on this tire calculator http://www.wheelsmaster.com/rt_specs.jsp that size is almost identical in height as the stock 225/45/18
