I see, thanks! Hopefully I won't have to do any fender work once I get the Tokico/Swift combo, I've ridden inside several cars that had rubbing issues even with the fenders rolled/shaved and hearing it happen just makes me cringe. I'll also change to either one of one those sizes whenever I purchase new tires again later.

I think you should be fine and have no rubbing issues with the Tokick/Swift combo. The Swift springs only drop 0.8" all around, and there are others running more aggressive setups without issue.

BTW, the Battles are bad ***. I love those wheels...

What's up guys, another wheel fitment newb here. I've been looking for a set of aftermarket wheels for my rx8 and I've really been looking into the Enkei Tuning Raijin series wheel. I've tried to learn as much as I can about offset and various things about proper fitment but I'm still not to sure about it.

Anyways here's the specs for what I'm trying to run. Will it fit and look alright or should i try for something else?



Enkei Tuning Raijin
F: 18X8.5 +50 or 18x8+45
R: 18X8.5 +50 or 18x8 +45

Car has stock suspension and running on stock tires

18x8 +50 is stock, so both off those fit without issue.

Alright thanks man. Should I go with the 18x8.5 +50 or 18x8 +45? I don't think it will make much a difference which one I choose but the 8.5 will probably look better.

Awesome, thanks again. I've done quite a bit of research and definitely going with this combination for handling and a little bit better stance. I love my Battles, probably one of best wheels you can around its price range!

Course it is. The comment was at your 12.5 +40 suggestion in the fronts. Keeping it in the fender properly is different.

18x8.5 +50 will certainly be better from a performance standpoint, but still is only a 1/2" wider than stock. The outside surface of the wheels will be 1.35 mm difference between these two options, so they will look the same.

it says general like 18x9 + 40 to 50, For every inch you are lowered, you can go about 5mm lower on offset, ie from +30 to +25ish. with camber, but im not dropped, so i dont really understand im stock high atm, idk what's going on, i just want to put on something with dish like +25 or +32

+32 will fit but will stick out from the fenders a little bit at stock height which is why I don't recommend it in my thread. I didn't make that thread to be general. I made that thread to make people like you not have to ask your question in this thread.

since +32 will stick out, +25 will stick out even further. It would need a fender roll and maybe some fender tab trimming AFTER you lower the car a 2 inches or more.

Just wanted to give a quick update on my new wheel/tire set-up. J86... and Pieper helped me select a mildly aggressive setup of 18 x 8.75 +20 XXR 530s with 235/40's on Tanabe GF springs.

The result was some beautifully flush wheels. Unfortunately there is rubbing issues in the back. So be aware that fender rolling is required if you decide to go with this setup.

There is no rubbing in the front, but I need to dial in some negative camber which may bring it about. Currently it's a bit in the positive.

I'm just looking for a reputable local shop to do both the alignment and fender rolling, then I'll post some pictures (somewhere) on the forum.

There is some plastic that has to be rubbed through for pretty much any set of aftermarket wheels. It won't rub for long if that's your problem. Do you see where it is rubbing? You are pretty close on needing a fender roll regardless though. After a roll you could have just gone with 245/40 lol

It might just be that bump near the bumper tab. I cut that as a precaution when I did mine so not sure if it would be an issue.

No it was rubbing on the metal of the inner fender pretty badly. It even managed to take a few chunks out of my upper side-wall of my brand new tires :/

But now that I got the fenders rolled and everything aligned it is truly a thing of beauty! I may still need to trim the tabs, cuz I got some minor scraping when taking a hard corner with a uneven pavement... but that was the only occurrence.
