18x8.5 +45 on 225/18 tires lowered on Tein S-Techs? Will the ride be fine or will turning be affected o.o?

That is almost the same as the stock sizing and you didn't list your tire size correctly. I assume it is the stock size so you will be okay.

ok, here is my question!

I am stock ride height, FOR NOW. I am getting wheels, BEFORE i get the drop.

Having said that, I am confused as to what +35,+22,+15 means regarding wheels. I want an aggressive look, not flush. so, what do those numbers mean? Now, can i do this with stock height? If I can, when I do lower it, will it be worse?

I know ppl have their own opinion on what it'll look like. I want pictures of stock height with different "+" sizes of wheels. I don't want to be told "Bro, ur an a** head if u think that looks cool!!" Just pictures, and actual information!

An "aggressive" set up will look like crap on stock suspension. I wouldnt even consider looking at wheels until I had some sort of drop, even if its just some sort of springs.

So read this thread, there are lots of aggressive set ups here. The reason you wont find alot of aggressive wheels on stock suspension is because it looks like crap, so people dont do it.

This guy is local to me, and I'm considering buying his setup. Now, I've got Tein S-techs, and these tires don't seem very beefy. Would my car look completely stupid with such a moderate drop?

Not really certain I'm a huge fan of his tire size choice. Seems like he chose this size to minimize work to make it fit? I thought I would come here, first, the good-&-the-bad. I appreciate all you do

Oh those are Cam's wheels! I think you should buy them, good price. I don't know why J is saying it would look bad. Before I had stance coils I was on stech's also on a similar setup and I thought it looked good.
EDIT: just get different tires.

Yeah, the tires (especially the rear tires) are my concern, but I dig the wheels. I can figure out what better options from the Aggressive fitment thread, but I'll more than likely end up running these tires for a little while. I just don't want it to look terrible in the interim. Thanks for the input - I'm still open to input from anyone else.

Ok, so I am looking at upgrading my wheels and I want to go strickly performance, but keeping the wheels durable enough for street use. I'm thinking of getting CE28N 10spoke at 17x9 or 17x9.5 (forget if they make a 9.5). I want to keep my side wall at 45 so I'm looking at getting my car adjusted for the smaller set up (currently on 18's).

I do not have custom suspension.

Questions I have are:
What offset is best for performance? Stability, acceleration, cornering, etc. I also don't want to have to extend my fenders so what numbers should I be running to keep it flush, or slightly in?
Other than the speedo reading wrong and me needing an alignment, what else will I have to adjust when downsizing 18's to 17's while maintaining same side wall?
Will I have tire rub with these sizes when turning full left to right? How to fix or prevent?

If I left something out, let me know and I will respond.

Stay close to +45 for performance. Someone else can explain how it negatively affects suspension attributes by having a lower offset

Will it fit with no rubbing or rolling?

Also which tyres would you recommend, car has high power and struggles for traction on stock setup. Dont want to adjust car (fenders/rolling etc)

am running rx7 engine conversion with greddy single turbo. 450bhp. need the traction :-)

275/35 with 18x9.5 +45. The +38 won't look good at stock height. You would have to lower it a bit. Might need a fender roll at that point. I find it hilarious that you will do a motor swap and refuse to roll the fenders. That makes tons of sense

Im running s techs on standard shocks. So will +38 all round look ok and help with grip? Had a look at fender rolling and it looks simple enough so I can do that.

Yea would look good. Depending on camber it may rub the rear bumper tab as well. Just trim it up a bit and you should be good to go. Some people just need a roll though.
