Will It Fit Thread
Alright, I Did more searching and i'm just going to go with Matte Black RPF1 18x9.5 +45 wrapped in Nitto NT05 275/35/18. everything I've seen says this will fit good and these are bomb tires. Thanks for the help guys
Pushin' Mediocre!
Looking for a setup that is street focused, but would fair well on a track if I ever decide to do so. I want to be very clear, I am not willing to roll, pull, or cut any part of my car yet, so these HAVE to fit without fender modification along with zero camber adjustments. I'm not expecting these to be perfectly flush, but I do want it to look more aggressive than the stock car. I'll eventually lower it, lets say an inch F&R to be safe (will likely be less). Obviously, I'm trying to avoid rubbing under any and all circumstances. Help me push the limits of mediocre!
Here are the wheel/tire sizes I'm considering:
17x8.5 +40 245/45/17
18x8.5 +40 245/40 18
18x8.5 +45 245/40/18
17x9 +45 anything but 255/40/17, diameter is too small for my taste, even though I know this setup is ideal.
18x9 +45 255/40/18
If I'm correct, 245/45/17 and 255/40/18 have a slightly larger diameter than stock, depending on tire, but that's fine with me as long as there are no rubbing issues, as is the price of 255/40/18 if I decide to go that route.
Care to offer up any opinions/sell me on one of these combos?

i thought you should know with rolling my fenders, some fender pulling and some negative camber it fits. i just need to do something about the bumper tab thinking i should just cut it off.
Hey guys, without reading the whole thread, will a set of 20x8.5 wheels with I think a 35mm offset and 255/35/20 rubber fit on the rx8? The bolt pattern is good.
I have these wheels on my other car which I'm thinking of selling. If they fit on the rx, I might keep em. Did a quick PhotoShop mockup:
20" Foose Spanks

Any rubbing issues with this combination without any fender work?
Work Emotion XD9 - 18x9 +38
Hankook Ventus V12 Evo - 255/45/18
Swift Sport Springs 0.8" Drop F/R
Thanks guys.
P.S. Any other springs you guys might suggest? I'm very picky on what I put on my car, and most people seem to like Swift to keep good handling characteristics without disturbing the suspension geometry while giving a decent drop... As far as I know, any drop past an inch disturbs the the RX-8s handling.

Poke too much implies you want some poke. Sorry I misunderstood. Those wheels could probably work. Stupid to get an 8" wheel. 18x9 +30 with 245/40 is my suggestion. Then if you want it a little farther out put 5mm spacers for just a tiny bit of money.
