I just got 245/40s installed on my 18x9.5+38 will these fit on stock suspension with out a fender roll? or should i just roll them to be safe? I am planning on getting tanabe gf springs hopefully sooner than later but would i just have to get them rolled when i got those installed?

18x9+10 (with spacer)
225/40/18 (OR) 255/40/18
Stance GR+

18x9+35 (without spacer) (maybe this just needs a 5mm slip on spacer?)
225/40/18 (OR) 255/40/18
Stance GR+

That's what I'm talking bout, I've been getting into rally racing lately and came across this picture.

I've been doing allot of research lately and this seems to be the best setup to accomplish my goal.

millerrx8 03-23-2014 10:38 PM

I'm looking at 275/40r18 on xxr 530 18x9.75 +20 dose any one know if rolling will enough or do I have to stretch the fender

Bad choice Hoosier. Too aggressive. The 8.75 +30 would be better

And lower your damn car. What kind of sissy boy are you?

Seriously, how do you drive with a lowered car? I've already scratched the underside of my front-splitter twice at stock height, just from hitting a dip and hitting one of those wider kinds of speed bumps. If I lowered my shit, I would literally not have a front/rear bumper, side skirts, or an undercarriage in less than a week. O.o Hawaii has the 8th-worst roads out of all 50 states... Maybe I could lower an inch or so once I move to Cali..? Where do you live that you can have a lowered car and not have it absolutely ravaged by the road?

hoosier1104 03-24-2014 07:22 AM

He lives in Houston, Mexico. I mean Houston, TX.

I may have enough room to drop it but then I have no suspension travel.

J8635621 03-24-2014 09:46 AM

The trick to driving a lowered car is 75% driver and 25% planning. I've seen people scrape in a damn stock SUV around here.

Hoosier - you don't need much suspension travel when the car isn't taken off any sweet jumps like shady wants to do. (Your bumpstops would hit before you hit the ground)

hoosier1104 03-24-2014 10:03 AM

I might put my springs on after all then.

9krpmrx8 03-24-2014 10:33 AM

Shadycrew31, that shit looks tight man. Are you on coilovers?

All_Day_Dre 03-24-2014 11:24 AM

lmao, i drove my lowered 8 around Louisiana for 5 years which I believe is ranked first in worst roads in the country...i managed, just gotta know your route and slow down if you are weary

You would need to bend over and stretch everything.

cxcjohn 03-24-2014 02:26 PM

Alright, here's my next attempt.

18x9 +20 all around WedsSport SA-55m

265/35 r18 Advan AD08's

On Bilstein PSS9 coilovers lowered all the way (guessing 1" drop)

I'm willing to do a fender roll, I just want to know if I need to do that first.

plz give me the lip bite thumbs up vin diesel

Nah man bone stock suspension, I removed the sway bars for added off road handling as well.

This thing is gonna be sweet man, don't make fun of my car bro. Its not cool to dis another mans passion.

Is there a specific thread consolidated with the different mods required for major lowering and agressive offsets? i.e. fender rolling, liner cutting, mounting tab shaving, etc.

I had no problem with my setup before, but now i am lowering quite a bit more and i can see clearances being an issue.

Currently running 18x10.5 +43 and 265/35/18 all around with S-techs switching to coilovers.

Matrx8 03-25-2014 09:08 AM

3 different choices:

18x9.5 Face 2 +35 (54mm, distance between calipers and spokes)
18x9.5 Face 2 +43 (46mm)
18x9.5 Face 3 +22 (52mm) (Face 3 is more concave, would look better)

http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/2009/pro...&code=VOLK_G25

Tire size...?
245/40/18
255/40/18
275/35/18

My suspension is a little jacked up right now, the rear springs are barely enough to handle the vehicle's weight + me, but I'll get that fixed before I put these on. The whole car is lowered about an inch and a half on Tenabe coilovers

J8635621 03-25-2014 09:50 AM

You can make all 3 wheel options fit. That depends on the look you want and the kind of function you are looking for

shinkastevie 03-25-2014 02:34 PM

I am new to the whole scene and was wondering if getting XXR 530's 18x8.75 +33 for my RX8, if that will be flush or not? I am NOT on stock height but I am not sure how much I am lowered bc the car was purchased like that. Also what size tires would you suggest?

It should sit in a good spot without rubbing. 245/40

J8635621 03-25-2014 03:37 PM

Unless the car being lowered is really blown shocks/shitty springs then he could rub more than 200s mom

Mr_Pieper 03-25-2014 03:39 PM

Then it will.
