At least a fender roll. I ran that size with a 265/35. Had to trim the bumper tabs

roll the fenders.. lower it a few inches add some neg camber.. youll be good. im running 18x9.75 +20 on 265/35/18 all around. i need to add some more neg camber to my fronts to get them a little more flush.

I've never used wheel spacers before, but I'm considering it. My setup is 235/35/19 19X8.5 +45 front and 265/30/19 19X9.5 +35 rear lowered on tein s-techs with stock shocks. Can I push the wheels out to almost the fender without rubbing issues?

just outta curiosity would 18x10.5 +22 fit all the way? Im lowered on stechs and koni yellows, willing to roll fenders etc. BTW i'm going with 18x9.5 +30 all the way around, i'm sitting on stocks right now.

ALRIGHT. I can't friggin stand the "stretch/poke" look that my tires have anymore.

Rims are 18x9.5" with +45 offset and 25mm spacers.

The front tires are 225/35/R18 and no rubbing issues whatsoever at stock height, and seem to have plenty of room.
The rear tires are 235/35/R18 and rub a little bit when I have a full car of people and hit dips or bumps. My rear fenders are already rolled. I'm going to also buy TEIN S-TECH springs shortly. Hoping the stiffer springs will make the car less bouncy and maybe help resolve that?

I'm super-cereal about buying a new set - especially for the front - because I have the money now and I'm sick of my RX8 looking "Mexi-flush." I didn't mean for it to look that way, it was just passed on to me like that from the previous owner.


I'm looking at either 255/35/R18 or 255/40/R18, but would the second option (40 sidewall) be too tall with the lowering springs? Should I go as short as 255/30/R18?

245/40 like the rest of the world and tire prices are much better than some of those other ones.

Take off the spacers and then you can run up to 275-35-18's :)

Don't want to get flamed but basically i have an S2 rx8 and I'm going to be getting some Tien S-tech so whats the lowest offset can get on an 18x9.5 all around with out rolling my fenders? i currently have some MB Weapons that are 18x9 +38 But i have my eyes on some new wheels and just need to know lol

Well I can tell you with confidence that with your rim size/width, even with super narrow tires (235/35/R18), at +45 offset you'll have to roll your rear fenders even when sitting up at stock height. I'll be getting my own S-TECH springs and installing them within a week or two, so I'll let you know how it goes since we'll have the same size/width rims and springs.

2010 RX8 stock as stock can be question about replacement tires

Option 1 is continental 225 / 45 zr 18 all around

Option 2 is continental 215 / 35 zr 18 all around

Option 1 is straight replace so no questions
Option two was recommended on a thread as being better for turning and I do like to take turns at speed.

My questions are:
Option 2 tire is less in diameter and they said it would lower my car a bit. Will I clear speed bumps with option 2 and is option 2 a "better" way to go?

Option 2 is a terrible idea. Your car will be "lowered" because your tires have shorter sidewalls. It won't be very significant (maybe 1/2" without doing the math), less than lowering springs would do. However, it will throw off your spedometer and odometer since your car will think you're going faster/farther than you are. Do not do this, it's a horribly stupid idea.

You want to keep the outer diameter of your tire as close to stock as possible. If you're on stock wheels, just get the stock tire size. If you want better handling, buy better tires.

Did you forget the part where you have 25mm spacers???

Trying to get the lowest offset you can without rolling your fenders is dumb. Roll the fenders. It isn't hard or expensive.

I know exactly what thread you are talking about. Don't believe everything you read. That's thinner and way shorter. It would make your car closer to the ground AND have more gap between tire and car. Awful choice.

245/40/18 is a great replacement size. Just a smidge shorter, good bit wider, fits an 8" wide wheel pretty well, and it's usually cheaper than 225/45/18.

Oh duh, yeah I didn't mention that. But yeah, anyone looking to get significantly bigger/wider rims generally ought to just expect to roll the fenders. There are like dozens of How-To videos on YouTube for it.

My new tires got here last night. Sumitomo High Tech Radial (HTR) Z II tires. Putting them on as soon as I can, but probably waiting for my TEIN S.TECH springs to get here first so I can have them all put on at once.

Yes, they will surely fit... Without rolling your fenders :lol: The lip will be tucked vertically to the fenders, you just cannot have that size with that offset on the front; otherwise, you sill rub on your fender liner and probably some of your suspension links when you fully turn the steering wheel. What size of tires would you put on those?
