Yes, they will surely fit... Without rolling your fenders  The lip will be tucked vertically to the fenders, you just cannot have that size with that offset on the front; otherwise, you sill rub on your fender liner and probably some of your suspension links when you fully turn the steering wheel. What size of tires would you put on those?

Tire size im thinking 265/40R18 or 265/35r18

The '35' profile will be too thin, I would go with the '40' and should give you about 3.7" of sidewall from the lip of the rim to the thickest part of the tire thread with a slight tire stretch. You won't have so much gap specially if your car is not lowered. You will be tucked and would not need to roll the rear fenders because of your +47 wheel offset; you can add a 10 mm spacer to get that flush look so your rim will line up vertically to your fenders.

Thanks for the info.

Looking for hopefully a quick response since I have a chance to purchase these.

18x9.5 +45 on 265/35's dropped on S-tech springs. Any issues?

Should be good...might need a touch of roll on fenders depending on tires

Thank you sir. Any idea how the general gmax tires run?

maddielu 06-26-2014 01:06 PM

Sorry if it was answered already, but there's 418 pages of this thread that I didn't feel like going through :eyetwitch

I'm looking at a set of Cosmis XT-005R in the 18x9 +25mm size and would like to put some 235/40/18 Nitto NT05s on the car.

Any help is much appreciated!

18x9.5 +45 with 265/35/18 will be fine. Plenty of room left without rolling of fenders. Very common width and offset.

Grrr... Dammit. I went and bought some 245/40/18's for my rear, but there's still a little bit of stretch! Crap. Oh well - the front tires are now the former rear ones - 235/40/18's, so I will just rotate the 245's to the front and put a new set of 265/35/18's on the rear. Anyone got some pics of this size tire on an RX8? Or hell, any car as long as it's an 18 x 9.5" rim? This sounds like a job for... Google images!

Here are mine for the rear with 245/40-18

Ideally, you want a square set up. That means same width front and rear. With 18x9.5 +45, most go with 275/35/18, with PLENTY of room to fit more without fender rolling. I am running 18x9.5 +45 RPF1's on 265's. It's more "sunk" than the pictures show. It was just taken off jackstands in the pics, so the ride height is a bit high with positive camber adding to it looking "flush-ish".

THAT is fucking tight. As soon as I get my S.TECH springs installed and can afford it, I'm definitely going for 265/35/18 or 275/35/18 on the rear!

Do it on all four corners! Staggered set up is silly

Yeah I know, I hate staggered setup almost as much as I hate stretch. But I already got the 245/40's because I thought they would not have any stretch to them :( They'll be the first ones I replace though, I guess.

Grace_Excel 06-30-2014 02:26 PM

I installed my drop springs this weekend and a 245/40 tires(much easier to find in stock and cheaper to buy) will fit in my set up and look just fine. I can go 255/35 but any tires wider will rub on the fenders. My square set up: 18 x 9.5 +38

Looks very slick, especially the rear view - what is your front/rear drop?

Thanks! I'm not exactly sure how much lower I got, but I just finished installing the rear RS*R springs a few hours ago. That multi-link suspension is such a pain in the ass! Took me four hours to do just one side and another one and a half on the other. I certainly was burning the midnight oil.

But before I hit the rack, I took some pictures. I probably would have to park the car outside now that it sits so low...

what about a 255/35/18 tire on a 8.5"W wheel, +30, or +40. will the tire fit good, be too wide? Opinions welcome.

J8635621 07-08-2014 09:47 PM

WHY SUCH A SHORT SIDEWALL????? Are you too good for the super, duper common choice of 245/40?

Mr_Pieper 07-09-2014 07:35 AM

A 245/40 will save you dollars because it is a very common size and gives many much choices.

Yup, 245/40-18 is commonly stocked in most popular tire shops.

Too good? Or maybe because a 255/35/18 is a inch wider, and same height. If I went 255/40/18 it would be too tall and rub. I would have thought you of all people would of figured that out. I have 245/40/18s but I want a wider rear tire.

I'm going from a 245/40 to a 255/40 soon. It is the absolute closest size in height to the factory 225/45. And I'm dealing with this:

Attachment 221218

I feel they will make my car less blurry.

J8635621 07-10-2014 11:17 AM

10mm is an inch now? Lolololol

Same height as what? If you have a learning disability please say so. I don't want to laugh at you if you can't help it.
