Off topic. Not sure why you figured the "will it fit" thread in the wheels tires brakes suspension subforum would be referring to engine fitment.

255/35/18s on stock rims? I can get a set super cheap! And I plan to get 9.5" wide wheels in the next 3 months, but want to run the 255's on my stockers until then. thanks

With my 18x9.5" +45 rims and 25mm spacers, I'm currently not rubbing at all in the rear with 235/40/18's, could I move to 265/30/18's without rubbing? This site makes it seem like I can because of the significantly reduced height to counteract the increased width, but I'm not sure. Maybe 255's?

You can still add 10 mm spacers, 15mm will depend on what size of tires you will have.
Legend In My Own Mind
As long as you discount the fact that tires aren't really made in a 265/30 and go with a 265/35 like others have done. It's still an oddball size and a little expensive.

255/35 will fit stock wheels just fine and will be more suitable on 9.5" wheel. Downside is how much smaller the diameter of the tires are going to be... It's going to look real tacky unless you plan on lowering the car.

Edit: Scratch what I said, I was thinking 255/40.

I'm lowered on TEIN S.TECH springs, I only have a 1.5 to 2-finger wheel gap right now

Hello all,
I need some help deciding on new tire size(s).
First of all, some background:
When I bought my car, it had the current aftermarket wheels and crappy tires on it. They are a staggered setup:
Front Wheels: PIAA Sport Mesh 18x8.5 +42, 26.0 lbs
Rear Wheels: PIAA Sport Mesh 18x9.5 +38, 29.0 lbs
Front Tires: Fuzion UHP 225/40/R18 (8.86" wide, 3.54" sidewall)
Rear Tires: Fuzion UHP 245/40/R18 (9.65" wide, 3.86" sidewall)
Remember, I had no part in deciding what wheels and tires were fitted, so you're preaching to the choir.
The problem I have is weak dry weather grip and almost no wet traction. I'm pretty sure it is mostly to do with the fact that these are bottom-of-the-barrel tires with crappy stretched fitment.
Well, with winter approaching, I need to get some decent tires on this car.
Given the wheels I have (buying new wheels is out of the question at this point), I'm considering these tire sizes:
Front & Rear: 255/40/R18 (10.04" wide, 4.02" sidewall)
Or
Front: 245/40/R18 (9.65" wide, 3.86" sidewall)
Rear: 275/35/R18 (10.83" wide, 3.79" sidewall)
I'm pretty settled on Continental ExtremeContact DWS as the tire choice. But I can't decide between a square setup at near OEM diameter with the fronts being slightly bulged and the rears being slightly stretched. Or a staggered setup with matched sizes.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Bryan

It's just how Continental made their tires to have thick thread blocks on the shoulders. I had a DUNLOP DZ101 in 255/40 and I didn't have rubbing, only when I had the ContiSports the tires rubbed.

work meister s1r
Hi I am after an aggressive fit of these work meister s1r 19's rims and want to be close to flush. I also want as much dish as possible. Not a fan of running with alot of camber but a little is ok.
I wil be fitting coilovers and will roll the guards.
I have been given two options from the distributor so far.
option 1. 19 x 9 +18 (95mm dish) , 19 x 10 +18 (108mm dish)
and I was thinking with 245/35 and 265/35 tires
option 2. 19x8.5 +32 (75mm dish) and 19x9.5 +38 (81mm dish)
with 235/35 and 265/35 tires
any help on this would be much appreciated
