With 8mm spacers and +25 offset the actual offset is +17. With the +25 you were asking for it...with the spacers it only got worse

Why do you want the spacers when it is making it worse?

Forgive me guys, dug through my receipts and found the exact measurements. My rear is set to 5-4.5 +36 on 18x8.75 with 8mm spacers. Way off, sorry. I decided to get spacers because i wanted my wheels no more than an extra 10mm further out and the 8mm did the trick. Going for an aggressive look. Just finished shaving the fender, gotta test for rubbing now. If it continues to rub my resolution would be going lower on teins which should reduce my camber right??

rotpow7672 02-09-2016 09:48 PM

Also planning on getting 255/35/18 tires soon. My current tires are 235/40/18

Grace_Excel 02-09-2016 11:11 PM

Yeah, 255 is wider than the 235. You're going to rub more, don't you think?

Thanks, where might i find 9krpmrx8's set up ?

In this same page, he just posted his in reaponse to the question above.

Offset and backspacing for 10in wheels

Correct me if I'm wrong. If you stock wheel is 8 in wide and your offset is 50mm, then that's 6inch of backspacing, well...6¹\2. So if you wanted to upgrade, or for that matter, downgrade to a size of 10in wide, then the offset would be 30mm to equal the backspacing you need, or could get away with. I'm sure 28mm being only 2mm difference, shouldn't cause an issue, right?

dannobre 03-04-2016 09:37 PM

Nope.......

Steven Pruitt 03-05-2016 06:04 AM

Does anyone actually know the minimum back spacing required for the rear? :suspect:

J8635621 03-05-2016 08:41 AM

10.5 +43 has been run all around if I remember correctly. Beyond that is on you to measure.

Are you assuming the stock wheels are as far inwards as they can be? Assumptions make you look stupid

Thanks for reply, however, asking if anyone knows the minimum backspacing indicates, I don't assume the stock equipment is max. Don't be an asshole, assumptions make you look stupid.

dannobre 03-05-2016 03:13 PM

I am running 18x10.5 +43 with 275-35 or 285-35 tires and they pretty much max out the inside and outside of the wheel wells. That is at about the lowest ride height that doesnt totally scree up the suspension geometry. Small fender roll is all they take to fit without rubbing. So figure out where the inside and outside are....and how much you are willing to mess with the outside and you have a good place to start

You can play with stretched tires, lots oF camber...and roll or mod the outside to get others to fit....but that's about it for what will

Steven Pruitt 03-05-2016 03:34 PM

Cool beans. Thanks. You mentioned rolling the fenders, do you have to do anything to the fender wells them selves or do they not enter fear?

The 285's are a bit of an issue in the front at full lock. And if you go out too much more than that on the rear you start to run into the body welds in the rear arch stay within those parameters and you are good as long as you don't try and run super low

Steven Pruitt 03-05-2016 05:25 PM

Good deal, thanks

Not an assumption when you typed it all by yourself.

Hi All!

Car is approaching 10 years old next month. Yeah time flies. Lots happened. But my Sunlight Silver RX-8 remained. So I am thinking to reward her with a set of wheels/tires.
19" RAYS wheels
Offsets are: +30F; +33R

Stock suspension and alignment.

Wondering if I can fit 255/35/19 as it is nearest to stock dimension.
Will there be rubbing?

Per my limited searches so far, it seem ok. Just want to check in. Thanks!

How wide are the wheels?

If they are 9" they will be ok...much wider and you will have to roll fenders

delhi 03-08-2016 05:03 PM

8.5

J8635621 03-08-2016 06:05 PM

Get the same offset front and back. No need to stagger

These are the G35 RAYS. So they are 30f/33r.

Interested if it will rub or not with 255.

J8635621 03-08-2016 06:37 PM

They are 8" in the front and 8.5" in the rear btw. 255 should be fine though I'd suggest a 245.

Hey all... I found a good deal on some Volk wheels and was wondering if i will have fitment issues.

Stock Height (For now at least i have uninstalls MS coilovers going in soon to get rid of the wheel gap)

Wheel Size - 19x8 +49
Tire Size - 225 40 Front, 245 35 rear.

And advice will be great. Thanks!!

Basically stock but 19" will look better with some spacers to move them out a bit. No fitment issues I can see
