Sorry >.< offset +25
With 8mm spacers and +25 offset the actual offset is +17. With the +25 you were asking for it...with the spacers it only got worse Why do you want the spacers when it is making it worse? |

Also planning on getting 255/35/18 tires soon. My current tires are 235/40/18
|
Yeah, 255 is wider than the 235. You're going to rub more, don't you think?

Look into 9krpmrx8's set up and do a little calculation... I am guessing that you'll be OK with the wheels. The rear tires might rub, though.

In this same page, he just posted his in reaponse to the question above.

Offset and backspacing for 10in wheels
Correct me if I'm wrong. If you stock wheel is 8 in wide and your offset is 50mm, then that's 6inch of backspacing, well...6¹\2. So if you wanted to upgrade, or for that matter, downgrade to a size of 10in wide, then the offset would be 30mm to equal the backspacing you need, or could get away with. I'm sure 28mm being only 2mm difference, shouldn't cause an issue, right?
|
Nope.......
|
Does anyone actually know the minimum back spacing required for the rear? :suspect:
|
10.5 +43 has been run all around if I remember correctly. Beyond that is on you to measure.
Are you assuming the stock wheels are as far inwards as they can be? Assumptions make you look stupid |

I am running 18x10.5 +43 with 275-35 or 285-35 tires and they pretty much max out the inside and outside of the wheel wells. That is at about the lowest ride height that doesnt totally scree up the suspension geometry. Small fender roll is all they take to fit without rubbing. So figure out where the inside and outside are....and how much you are willing to mess with the outside and you have a good place to start
You can play with stretched tires, lots oF camber...and roll or mod the outside to get others to fit....but that's about it for what will |
Cool beans. Thanks. You mentioned rolling the fenders, do you have to do anything to the fender wells them selves or do they not enter fear?

Hi All!
Car is approaching 10 years old next month. Yeah time flies. Lots happened. But my Sunlight Silver RX-8 remained. So I am thinking to reward her with a set of wheels/tires. 19" RAYS wheels Offsets are: +30F; +33R Stock suspension and alignment. Wondering if I can fit 255/35/19 as it is nearest to stock dimension. Will there be rubbing? Per my limited searches so far, it seem ok. Just want to check in. Thanks! |

If they are 9" they will be ok...much wider and you will have to roll fenders |
8.5

Get the same offset front and back. No need to stagger

Interested if it will rub or not with 255. |
They are 8" in the front and 8.5" in the rear btw. 255 should be fine though I'd suggest a 245.
