Well unfortunately, most people will probably agree that what you did with the fenders and bumper was a bad choice.

Good luck.

It's ok. I like it. I'm a noob to rx8' and this site .

Back peddling, I like how fast you are. Yes, hmmm.

just get some side skirts looks weird with a ms bumper and no side skirts, my opinion car looks good, better than with the old crap bumper and lights, even if it is a replica ms bumper came out good,

jorx7 05-27-2016 06:27 PM

so i spoke with my omar, nycdriftking, on a tire setup i might get, but want some other opinions, we think i should be fine with fitment but want to make sure,

i got my enkie rpf01 18/9.5 +45 and have the ability to get a brand new set of tires size 265/40/18 and want to make sure I'm in the clear, car is on stock suspension, will i rub any were? or will i be in the clear, i was also considering weight of the tire as to slowing me down rather than helping with acceleration, each tire is only 26lbs, not that bad considering some 225 tires weigh the same amount, your thought on this set up? john

Thanks man. I plan on having side skirts ... I even bought the fenders that have the holes in them already. There is also a little rust in the back that I have to fix then paint rest of car. (I'm painter by trade)

FWIW, I have 19x9.5 +43 in the rear. Michelin Pilot Super Sport 265/35s just barely didn't clear with stock fenders, suspension, and alignment, so I went to 255s, no problem at all.

With you being 2mm farther inboard and being on 18s, I would expect they would fit with no fender/suspension mods. Not sure, but I figured my experience might be close enough for you.

My fronts are 8.5 wide with 245/35s, so no comment there.

You need 265-35-18 tires...the 40 series sidewall will be too tall

jorx7 05-29-2016 05:45 PM

thanks for the info, i decided not to go with the tire, was going to get them only cause i wouldve got them for a steal, but I'm not willing to screw up my car to save 400.00 bucks, only to have to spend more later to fix a bigger problem, im just gona stretch my new stock tires on them till they wear down enough to get a 245 size tire, the car sits garaged most of the year any way,and rarely comes out,

J8635621 05-29-2016 07:16 PM

245 on a 9.5? That won't look good either lol

JakeKaminskisRacing 06-01-2016 08:42 AM

Came across a deal that I couldn't pass up. Paid $300 for the set and the A6s are barely used. However I will be selling the A6s. The XXR aren't my first choice, but for almost free can't complain. I'm on stock suspension, how dumb will it look?! LOL

18x9.75 +22 XXR
Thinking 265/35/18 RS3

I found this cool tire/wheel calculator. You can put in your parameters and determine if you might get problems. +22 seems aggressive to me.

You will need a roll if you are lowered at all. You will likely have issues with 265 series tires as well...depending on the type. Some are wider than others

They will definitely fit...but will need some fender work

J8635621 06-01-2016 06:05 PM

It's gonna need some fender mods involving hammers and stuff. I had 9.5 +23 with 265/35 rs3. I'm pretty low

JakeKaminskisRacing 06-01-2016 11:36 PM

I'm at stock suspension and ride height. Not looking to roll the fenders any time soon. So I'll probably just resell the wheels and tires separately and make some money off them.

gwailo 06-17-2016 09:12 AM

In the market for new wheels and tires. Another member shared his specs with me for the same set of wheels I am interested in but our suspension set up is a little different

Before anyone comments on the wheels themselves, I know they are pretty common but I really like them :)

Forgestar f14: 18x10 +42, 275/35/18

I am on tein stech and I think that's it (previous owner).

My goal is to be pretty flush with the wheel well (not slammed/hella) and I don't want to use spacers or roll fenders.

With the f14s in mind, anyone have another set up suggestion? I've gone through the f14 thread but I haven't gone through all 441 pages of this one yet... ;)

Thanks!

Justin

J8635621 06-17-2016 09:14 AM

Probably will need a roll to drive hard. Also depends on the particular tire as some are wider than others

gwailo 06-17-2016 09:29 AM

I don't drive too hard but I'd like the option to have a little fun. I don't mind narrower tires as long as they don't end up looking like a puckered butthole on the wheels. :ugh2:

Those should fit well....I doubt you will need a roll...they are about 1/2" narrower than mine and they fit

Most 275 width tires should be ok with that offset

How does this setup affect the handling? 275s up front seem quite wide.

Thoughts? I'm not a wheel/tire expert as you can probably tell. Haha

Thanks!

dannobre 06-17-2016 03:28 PM

You get a bit of tramlining with the wide tires but not that much. A square setup is best..if you go narrow on the front it will make it push more. You can rotate them that way as well and it just works better

245-50-18?

I just bought a set on 18" RX8 40 anniversary rims with 245-45-18 on them. They need replacing but I'd rather more profile. Has anyone had any rubbing issue with 245-50-18"s ?

Grace_Excel 06-20-2016 11:26 AM

If they are the same offset as the five spoke stock, you will be OK as long as you're still in stock height. The 50 profile is a little thick than the 45, at least 1/8 of an inch I think.

J8635621 06-20-2016 07:09 PM

245/50? Monster truckin

mtmetzger 06-21-2016 01:57 PM

Looking at a set of Work XD9's and I believe the fronts will work. Rears may need some fender roll. Figured I'd post for clarity.

18x9 +38 225/40/18 Nankang
18x10 +38 255/38/18 Nankang

Lowered about an inch on unknown springs.

Those will be close :) I think the rears should be OK as long as you aren't too low
