Looks good though, I like the aero. Don't forget you may rub again if they take out a lot of camber during the alignment.

ESR wheels
im selling my R3 wheels (PM me for details/if you have a serious offer) and buying ESR SR01 (F: 19x8.5 +30) (R:19x9.5 +35) and wanted to make sure these would fit. I am staying stock height. I have a 2011 R3. Thanks for the help guys!:shocking:

Hey all I would like to know if XXR 527 18x9.75 Matte 5-100/5-114.3 [+20mm] all around will fit? Not sure on tire sizes either, I would like 225 up front and 245 in rear if possible? The car isn't lowered and the fenders are not rolled either not sure if that makes a difference or not. Thanks

Hey guys, really struggling here and would appreciate some advice!
I'm currently converting my Rx8 into Lightning McQueen, so need some Nascar style wheels and tyres. So need to go down the smaller rims, bigger tyre route. The total opposite of what everyone else does.. Haha. Can anyone help me with some recommendations? |
You can only go down to 17s with the sport suspension/larger brakes (which is every car except for 2004-2005 automatics that were base models)

I have a decent set of wheels that I removed from my DD. They are 19x8.5 et40 and 19x9.5 et45, but I will have to run a 15mm adapter in order to get them to fit. They are wrapped in Hankook Ventus V12 235/35ZR19 and 255/30ZR19 tires.
So I am guessing the setup with adapters will basically be 19x8.5 et 25 and 19x9.5 et30. |
I am completely new to buying aftermarket rims (wheels, whatever) and tires. I will buy ohlin coilovers and drop the car just enough to get rid of the wheel gap. I will also run stock camber. I do not want stretched tires or any kind of this newfangled nonsense that kids these days are doing. I also do not want to run spacers. I just want my new wheels to sit flush and look good. The VFS1s in 19s (smallest they go) are available in three sizes:
8.5 +32 9.5 +28 10 +48 From what I understand with all this complicatedness, the 9.5 is right out and the 10 is the best fit. I have also gathered that a 265/30 or 275/30 is the best wheel choice. Im thinking 275s sidewall would be more perpandicular to the rim than the 265s. What are your opinions on a lightly lowered, stock camber, 19X10 +48 with a 275/30? I do not track the car and these rims are the lightest Vossen makes. I have asked a few members on here their thoughts but id like more input so I dont make a $3k+ mistake, thanks. |
Just found a nice site that allows for side by comparison of 2 different wheel setups. 1 is stock and 2 are the vossens.

Is this what you would call the factor that determines the way the car handles differently? Is a positive srub of 7mm alot or no? I just dont want my car to feel all different. |
I have 19x9 +35 rims, tein s-techs, both all around. I need a set of winter tires for about a month, mainly for the days that it snows (which it rarely does). I'm able to get a set of 4 almost new blizzak lm25's winters in 225/40 R19's for really cheap. Would this tire size be too narrow for my rims?

If you try, you can usually find the manufacturer info where they say which wheel widths are recommended for each tire size/model.

No comment on lowering, other than in general, it make things harder to fit. I have 19x8.5" +36 w/ 245 up front and 19x9.5 +43 w/ 255 in the rear, didn't touch a thing or adjust camber. 265 mostly fit the rear with no adjustment, but the Pilot Super Sports seem to run wide. I couldn't fit them and didn't want a roll. |
Okay, I have decided I was going way too in depth on everything. My new question is which would be me best bet when not wanting spacers/rolls/pulls/ or any of that bs. I will be lightly lowered to get rid of wheel gap and running stock camber. Would like to run as close to flush as possible.
Options are (19") Volk G25 8" +48 8.5" +35 or +45 9.5" +35 or +45 I would prefer to run one of the 9.5"s because I like the deeper concave |
Also, with the same wheels in both fronts and backs, do they meet up to their fenders equally? I'd had to buy the same and have the rears sunk in when the fronts are flush

9.5 +35 will fit with a roll or OK with up to 245 tires at stock or normal lowered ride height |
So you're going to spend thousands on wheels and won't get a roll.....it'll never be "flush" without one. 9.5 +35 with 265/35 would look the best out of those options.

I guess I may have a different idea of flush from others, but I do not want a stretched tire that comes within a finger gap of the fender. I'm assuming the point of fender rolling is to be able to achieve an extremely close fit, with the rim sticking out far enough to be flush with the fender, and the tire being stretched just enough to give the correct angle so when compressed, it won't run on the rolled fender. I'll try and find a picture of what Id like.

I like this look. I know these are 18s, and I have no idea what the tire size is. I do know that I like how the tire is close to perpendicular with the rim, not stretched and angled back. I would like my car to be a little lower than this one, maybe 3/4 inch.

A rolled fender will also allow you to have a properly sized tire closer to the fender. You don't have to be hella flush or whatever the people are calling it now.
