Big Money Pit 01-16-2009 07:22 AM

so 15 offset is definitely more aggressive... but how wide of a tire could i get away with if i have 17" wheels? i'm guessing that i would be pushing the tire more to the outside of the car?

TopGear8 01-16-2009 11:25 AM

^I'm not sure on how wide of a tire you could have with the +15 offset. When I had my mind set on getting the 17X9's +35 I was planning on putting a 275/35/17 All around. I would say that a 255 or 265 would be a good size tire for what your looking for.

Big Money Pit 01-16-2009 11:48 AM

i think i'm just going to go with the 35 offset, now that i've seen pictures of it.

imput1234 01-16-2009 01:29 PM

with +15, your not gonna be able to run much rubber, if you are lowered. It's a very hard fit, but doable. That's the setup I am looking at 17x10 +15 all around.

dannobre 01-16-2009 01:33 PM

Your kidding right ;) Get out your tin snips :)

No, lol

Looking into 17s. How would these do? Also, from what I've read this tire size will result in the closest to accurate speedo reading for this rim size?

Rims
F: 17x8.5 +30
R: 17x8.5 +30

Tires
F: 245/45-17
R: 245/45-17

imput1234 01-19-2009 09:33 AM

Those will fit fine.

enthegen 01-19-2009 05:09 PM

ok im looking at 18x9.5 on all 4 corners. However the only offset I can find in the rims I am looking at is +20 and +28 is this doable without rubbing? I want a flush look. Or should I try and continue looking for a 18x9.5 in a 30 or 35 offset?

Car is on tein stech

Your gonna rub, even if you are on a real small tire. If you don't wanna rub you should look at stuff above 40.

If you are willing to roll/pull you'll be able to run in the 20's without problems, with smaller tire.

NightShark 01-19-2009 11:48 PM

hey guys planning to get rims for an 8 and the fenders will be rolled front and back. With that being said, whats the lowest offset i can get away with without rubbing after the roll? The car will be lowered close to 2 inchs enough to fit 1 finger in the wheel well or half a finger.

19x8.5 F and 19x9.5 R
i was thinking of going +30 fronts and +36 rears. how does that sound?

i appreciate the input guys!

TopGear8 01-19-2009 11:56 PM

^That will be fine. With rolled fenders it should be ok as long as you add a little bit of negative camber.

NightShark 01-20-2009 06:18 AM

^^^ the fronts should be ok for sure right? the rears is cutting a bit close and should be what i'm worried about?

Also, if i wanted to use a NON-staggered setup with 8.5 all around, the rears would then be converted to 19x8.5 +23 correct? Is that even a common offset in that size?

thanks guys

Found the following sizes, which ones will fit/not fit, same size all around:

18x10.5s:

18x10.5 +48
18x10.5 +49
18x10.5 +50
18x10.5 +54

18x11s:

18x11 +43
18x11 +48
18x11 +54

18x11.5s:

18x11.5 +48
18x11.5 +49
18x11.5 +54

do you guys think 11s or 11.5s are possible at all???? I've heard 11s might be doable with the precise offset.

For these rims and tires, what offset would be better, options are +30 or +40?

imput1234 01-22-2009 08:52 AM

^ +30 would be closer to flushness.

All of them will fit, what tires are you gonna run.

Isn't that really close on fitment though? I recall seeing somewhere that at least on 17x9s that an offset around 30s was risky.

Atilla 01-22-2009 09:51 AM

^+30 on 9" should be fine...

here's 18x9 +30 offset - Rota Boost's

https://i422.photobucket.com/albums/...6-582/RX-8.jpg

looks like a clean fit w/no rubbing...

true it's not 17's but i'm sure it wouldn't be any more dangerous than running w/18's -

could be wrong of course, i've made mistakes before :icon_no2:

You'll need to roll.

Ah, ok. I'd like to avoid doing so in any case, so on 8.5s +40 would be the safe bet?

I mean you can run +30, and still be fine. depends on tire to.

But yes with + 40 you'll be fine.

khronus79 01-22-2009 09:38 PM

are you positive on the +54 offset?????

peregrinus 01-22-2009 10:39 PM

looking at getting a set of SF challanges from volk

19x9.5" all around +48 offsets.

will those fit up front?

not sure on tires, mostly worried about the rims in general.

J8635621 01-22-2009 10:53 PM

Just look and see what other people have done. I would think if you are going to spend that much money, you would go a bit more aggressive.
