You'll be able up to a 255/ all around, no problems.

What do you mean by too big?

You don't think they will fit or you don't think there will be any benefit for 265 vs. 255?

Max tire on a 8.5 is 255, its just like how people put 255 on the OEM wheel. It's pointless.

Really!! I was certain you were gonna say no. How about +35mm, if not I imagine +45mm will work? Is there any problem getting such a wide wheel on? Also, anyone have any pics of this size wheel on? Thanks.

Either one will work, you'll need a roll/pull/shave, I'm assuming your going to run a lot of tire.

Can someone help with a huge issue I'm trying to wrap my head around? I'm wondering with wheels, what factor changes as the center of the rim moves in, but the outer edge stays flush (ie concave)? And what factor changes as the lip size increase, but the center of the rim stays flush with outer edge? In other words, what is the difference between this 2 pictures? Is the lip related to wheel size (ie 8" wide vs 9") and the concaveness related to offset? Any help would be greatly appreciate

Some wheels have more of a lip, and some have more of a concave look. Therefore, the bigger the lip you have, the more aggressive of an offset you have. Also, the more concave you have, the more aggressive of an offset you have as well. Stock offset on an rx8 is +50mm. So a more aggressive offset would be something like +25

You'll have problems with the rear, unless you stretch a decent amount of tire.
I'm sure you could clear 225, or 235 easily with a roll.

Would a +35mm look aggressive, or do I have to get into the 20s for it to be really noticeable?

Nice setup!!! How many inches is that lip in the rear? That is exactly what I was looking, but I was worried you could never get that look with an offset as high as +40mm!! I'm having to buy my rims online, so it makes it tough. I guess I should be asking the dealers how big the lip is and not worry as much about offset.

see my post above yours. the offset does matter a lot more than you think.

Define "Noticeable"

I've had +35's before and they looked "ok" on some sportmax's - but +35 on some work emotion CR Kai's look GREAT -

like i suggested before - lay a stock wheel on the ground take a ruler(or meter stick) across it and know it'll be around +50 - then do some math - take away 20mm's and you'll be around +30. the lip should remain the same for most wheels but the spokes will give you that concave look. Once again, granted your wheels even have a lip. Some wheels that have a lip, like nuke's, so sometimes the face doesn't bend in, but rather it stays flat and just increase it's lip.
