Quick question - is a 265/30/19 rear and 235/35/19 front setup okay? Or is there a better tire setup for a front/rear match for 19X8.5 F / 19X9.5 R?

HockeyRX-8 03-12-2009 11:43 AM

Got some more specs.

Will this fit?

Interog: as long as the offset is +38 and above.

Hockey: 275 may require some fender roll and camber (which you'll probably get from the drop anyways). 255 will probably work better but won't look as nice as the 275's.

Thanks Atilla :)

Honestly the tire that makes most sense is

http://www.vulcantire.com/azenis_rt615_t.htm

255/40R18 95W - $165 each. - expect about 15-20k miles out of them

615s have some serious shoulders on them, so they will be a bit wider then regular 255s and their dry traction is just unbeatable for a street tire, so you are all set for autox or track.

These Sumitto tires actualy have great reviews, you aren't going to get the traction of 615s, but they come in 265/40/18 (1.4% bigger diameter over stock)

I'd go for 615s, unless you want an all season tire

Bravery 03-13-2009 11:09 PM

cheap

a set of rota slipstreams
17x8, 45 offset? im guessing this would work fine but anyidea what teh widest tire i could run or even size?

I was thinking of getting the 615, but because they wear out pretty quick, I may not. The other tire I was thinking of getting is the Nitto Invo. It has similar specs, similar price, and the tread wear is better than the 615. So, I'm trying to figure out which one to go with....kinda leaning toward the nitto's right now

yea but they don't come in 265/40 like the sumitos and they have lower treadwear (300 sumito 260 for nitto). Plus summitos are currently ranked #1 by tirerack in class shootout.

ok guys i was asking htis in the 5ziegen thread and was curious on all your thoughts.

if i want to run a 17x10 rim with a +35 offset in the rear with a 275/40/17 RT-615 tire. would i be good without rubbing at stock height. i know i will be good on the front because i am running a smaller rim and tire. just not sure weather to go with the 275 or 255 on the rear.

Big Money Pit 03-14-2009 09:40 AM

another thing to think about is how a stretched 255 will look if the front is a different size. will they match and look ok?

also remember that 615's are a teeny bit wider than other tires of the same size.

The Nitto Invo are nothing special in the dry, but in the wet they are pretty damn good. They are also very quiet. BTW I don't think many people get 265/40 since they are bigger than stock. FWIW I'm probably getting 615s after my Invo go bald.

19x 9.5 +34 R with 275

i'm going to have my fenders rolled and a bit of camber.. will it work?

sorry, back to those specs i was asking about up top, I wanted to mention that i was going to lower my car on coilovers so there would be maybe 0-0.5 inch wheel gap.. will these tire sizes still work ok?

If your running a 9.5" wide rim in the back with a +25 offset with no fender rolling, then wouldnt a 10" wide rim with a +35 offset be in almost the same location (the outside of the rim). The rim would be .5" wider yes, but with the different offset it would also sit damn close to a 1/2" farther into the car. To me this would mean that with fender rollign and a 255 tire should work. I could be totally wrong here. wondering if anyone has this setup.

Big Money Pit 03-14-2009 12:34 PM

fender rolling and a 255 would be ideal, IMO.

Fate710 03-14-2009 05:14 PM

Ok before I order these on monday, I want to ask one final time that these will work.

18x10 Front/Rear with +48 offset.

Tire are 265/35/18 Dunlop FM901s.

Car will be dropped on Tein S-Techs.

Will these fit for sure? Will I need to roll? Should I just go ahead and roll them to be safe.

dannobre 03-14-2009 06:41 PM

They should be OK....this is close to the edge on the front and rear....will depend on the tire profile if you rub

nuke0907 03-14-2009 06:45 PM

might come close to the shock/spring.

Fate710 03-14-2009 07:15 PM

would 5 or 10mm spacers help?

haha yea - cause you know whatsup :). Those tires are seriously nutty. - I put them on a Miata once and couldn't break traction on it ever since - I missed the little sliding....though my neighbor took the car out in the middle of the winter just to see how bad max summer tire would be...did a 360 in the middle of our small street coming out of the corner and somehow managed not to hit anyone...that concluded the testing.

The title of this thread should be changed from "Will It Fit" to "Am I Retarded" :)

dannobre 03-15-2009 10:33 AM

For sure....same questions over and over again :)

Fate710 03-15-2009 10:59 PM

ok a little bit dealin with offset and tire size. Since a 18x9.5 will fit a 275/35/18 with a +45 offset, would an 18x10 fit the same 275/35/18 with a +48, or +43, or +40, or +38 offset.

The wheels come with a +48 offset, but I'd run a 5mm, 8mm, or 10mm spacer to get them to fit properly with a decent size tire.

Let me know what ya'll think soon cause I want to order my tires this week.

Phish806 03-16-2009 05:54 PM

OK, would a 17x9 wheel with a 35 offset tuck a 275-40-17 tire in the rear with stock height and no rolling? Or would 275 be to wide of a tire for the rear and that offset? If a 275 woudl not work i am assuming a 255-40-17 will. correct?
