If i do get swaybars, they'll be Progress.
I really like the stock ride and height of the 8 and would like to keep it that way.
I just want to know if getting upgraded swaybars is worth the money.

The stock shocks are pretty much gone at 50,000 miles, so if you are approaching that, I would upgrade. Otherwise, just add the sway bars. You'll be happy you did.

mine's at 70k and they feel far from 'gone'

it's highly dependent on the type of roads you drive on, if you do mostly smooth highway cruising, it'll last a lot longer than those that drive through pothole-filled city streets everyday.

yeah, but it's a good excuse to change parts sooner.

there are so many spring options to go with that you have to decide on your own which you want.

but im going with the progress tech sways cause i will be tracking alot, so you cant go wrong with them

I'm putting in Racing Beat springs, swaybars and links with Tokico D-spec shocks because I'm not looking to lower the car much, I want to keep a relatively smooth ride for the kids and I still be able to hit the track. I think that this will be a good compromise.

Edit: 81000km (50K miles+) and my rear shocks are gone.

I do mostly highway, and at 40K, I could feel the shocks not react as quickly as they used to. Maybe they don't feel like they are "gone" to you, but if you drive a newer RX-8, I bet you'd notice quite a difference (@ 70K).
