WOW! Tirerack.com is da bomb + question

I just bought my RX8 two months, ago loving every mile!

Unfourtunatly I have to drive to Arkansas from texas every week for business, and here its gets really cold and runs the risk of icing up over winter so I had to blow about 600 bucks for new tires already. Got a set of the Avon M550s

What's so cool about tire rack.com is the fact that I ordered them yesterday at like 4pm, and they were shipped that same day! I live outside of houston so even with the cheapest "slowest" shipping, they are coming the next day! (they ship from Louisiana apparently) so w00t!

A question I have about the stock Potenza's they only have 6000 miles on them, I'm torn between just storing them until I use up these Avon's (and just hope that happens around a summer time) or to try and sell them here online to anyone that might want a set of practically new tires? Also what kinda price would 4 potenza's go for with 6K miles on it?

Thanks!

No one is gonna want stock tires, unless they come with the stock rims (in which case they're really just wanting the rims).

Some people here may want the stock tires. Figure about 300 for the set is my best guess.

ah i see -- im not going to die if i dont sell them or anything, i figure with the winter weather, id rather spend the 500+ dollars to keep my ride from sliding off a hill or around a corner. Worst thing that can happen, is I just store the stock tires in my dad's garage till the Avon's wear out

Just an fyi when you store them dont stand them up like they are on the car, this can cause flat spots and will sound horrible if you do ever put them back on. My last car I hung them from the rafters to get them out of the way and it worked pretty good.

yeah i read an article on tire rack.com about how I could just put each tire in a bigass black garbage bag and seal it up. and then stack them (not vertically) somewhere out of the way.

the garbage bag Idea is nice because not only will it keep them 100% clean, but protected from any bugs or spiders that wanna crawl in them (not to mention light/UV light that can damage the rubber over time
