After reading the whole thread... I am leaning towards the HKS Hypermax II now.
I am so confused!
First I am thinking Tein flex, then Tein flex and EDFC, now I am tossing between Fujita Engineering FM801 and HKS HII. To be honest, I think Fujita one is made by HKS but rebatch it and have a strong string setting. F10 and R6.
Dunno I think $1400 or so is a good price and I can get HKS HII in Hong Kong.

By the way how much to they weigh? I want to be able to carry them in my luggage. Can the spring (the heaviest bit) be taken out and mail seperately??

Do you have to remove and reinstall any of the stock parts with this Hypermax II suspension or is the entire new suspension included in the package? Also, does anyone know if there are any other differences between the Hypermax II and the Hypermax RS besides the slightly softer front spring in the RS?

Outside of the valving and front springs, the only other differences are the color of the shock body and the price! In the U.S., the Hipermax RS' retail cost is $190 less than the Hipermax II http://www.hksusa.com/products/more.asp?id=1991.

Taka, come, join the club :D the teins are very good, but like I said to a friend of mine, the HKS are more hardcore, made-for-the-track suspension, yet very streetable too... maybe ordinary drivers like me won't see a great difference between the two. but one thing is for sure: they are made of better material and they are lighter than stock. teins are heavier I think, and upper mounts are not made of hardened aluminium like the HKS...

Have seen the Tein life, yet to see HKS.
I think Tein is very heavy but I am not sure if it is heavier than stock.

The first thing is to move to another house with an garage that does not have a steep driveway. I swear the house designer only had a 4WD in mind. And my car bottom plate scratches even it is stock height It will not be able to get it into the garage if my 8 is lowered

I faced a problem with the rear damper controls the 'cables' were finished, but my mechanic kinda fix them. I couldn't turn them to change the stiffness. we uninstalled the whole rear suspension, and saw the metallic cable totally destroyed at the point where it attached to the coilover. we cut them, now they are sorter by 2cm and reinstalled them. now they seem to be working, but I think they are a bit fragile. hks should've made a better job with the controllers. anyway I hope they stay functional this time:o
on the other hand, I gave the car to my mechanic and he said the ride was very good, better than any other 8 he's tested with aftermarket suspension...
well you won't be the only one I can't go into my garage now... I know, it sucks, but I'm planning on using a sledgehammer and fixing the problem lol ...

Wow i never faced that issue with the rear controller. But then again i only played with it a few times. Well hopefully it stays fixed this time.
