Yet another TPMS story

Yet another TPMS story
I have an O4 with stock rims and Bridgestone Potenzas; like (it seems) everyone else, my TPMS sensor starts to blink after about 10 minutes. Checking the pressures, I found they were overinflated after service work and not equal. Balanced them to 34 PSI. Drove home, feeling smug, until I pulled up to a stop light, downshifted, and bingo, TPMS light. Feeling inspired/aggravated, I shut the motor down and restarted it. Voila, TPMS light now off.
About 10 miles later, slowing down for another light, in traffic, and the idiot light comes on again. Cut the ignition, restart, and again, the light is gone.
Need to sort this out some more, doubt it'll ever be fixed, and I'm considering MM's hot wire cut to disable the whole system entirely. Just found it curious that the TPMS only popped when I was in slow traffic around other cars. I'm wondering if part of the problem is interference with the TPMS signal by adjacent cars, possibly also running some kind of TPMS. Should be called PITA.

I have over 100,000 miles and the TPMS work fine, defective TPMS is not really a big topic here. Also read ALL the posts in that TPMS "disable" thread, it works for very few people. Try the TPMS reset procedure mentioned in the manual.

Sorry, but I have read the f*cking boards. TPMS is a widespread problem that rises only to the annoying, but it does create a major problem trying to sell a car with a blinking light on the dashboard that won't go off short of taking the car to the local stealership that knows generally nothing about the RX8s they sell. Where's the incentive to pay a boatload of cash to install or service new sensors that never worked as designed in the first place? Im not stupid, save for the fact that I actually thought I"d get a helpful response from this circus.

Bad attitude? Not even close. Just blunt honesty. And who are you, Expo's attack dog?
I made a post about a peculiarity I noticed about my TPMS problem. Foolishly, I though it might be of interest to someone. While I appreciate Expo trying to be helpful by telling me to "read all the threads" (I have), he lost me at "its not a really big topic here". The only reason it's not a big topic is that everyone has given up on fixing it, and for me, it's a major ******* topic because I"m trying to sell car. I had to tell a potential buyer today about it; fortunately for me, he works at a Mazda dealership and is familiar with the "quirks" of an RX8.
Reset procedure, my ***. Been there, done that, forget about it. The only "reset" is $400 in new sensors and a trip to Mazda, and judging by the amount of tread left on my tires, that'll be a while.
So Expo and Lurch, if I pissed you off, so be it. From now on I'll keep my mouth shut and let you "experts" talk amongst yourselves.

Wow zen, you need to take it easy. If you HAD read the boards, youd know that expo is one of our most helpful members when it comes to finding / resolving issues.
Expo, Lurch, AND I have all been on here much longer then you; trust us...TPMS failure is NOT that big of an issue. Flooding, squeaky brakes, squeaky sunroof, and crappy A/C are MUCH more common.
How many miles on your car? are you still under warranty?

In addition to TPMS failure not being a major issue you claimed to have read the "Cutting the wire DIY". If you did you would have read this quote from the starter of that thread "Seems to only work on some cars." Also in that thread are posts from three people that tried it and cutting the wire didn't work for any of them. Other than MM no other board member has claimed to have disabled TPMS. So when some of us ' old timers ' read posts with false accusations and by people that do not read all the posts in a thread we might get a bit harsh. If any of our replies stopped you from taking apart the dash and cutting the wire we did you a favor whether you realize it or not.
